Bio

Adam Garcia is an Australian actor and tap dancer best known for his role as Stu in the 2004 feature film Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen.

He was also a judge on the reality dance competition Got to Dance, from 2009-2011.

Born in New South Wales, Australia, Garcia's career in dance began in 1992 on the Australian tour of musical Hot Shoe Shuffle - and when the show transferred to London's West End Garcia caught the eye of dance legend Arlene Phillips.

In 1995 he went on to play the role of Doody in Grease at the Dominion Theatre and a year later bagged a role in the Sky1 football drama Dream Team.

He went on to play the lead role of Tony in Saturday Night Fever to rave reviews and earned an Olivier Award nomination for best actor in a musical. In the same year, he reached number 15 in the UK singles charts with his version of Night Fever, taken from the musical.

In 2000, Garcia performed at the opening ceremony of the Sydney Olympic Games and starred in the film Bootmen, the story of the dance troupe, Tap Dogs, which he co-founded.

His movie career continued with roles in Coyote Ugly (2000), Riding in Cars With Boys (2001) and Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen (2004). Garcia also starred in Marple: Body in the Library in 2004 and the Doctor Who Christmas special in 2005, both for BBC One.

Garcia returned to the West End in September 2006, to take up the role of Fiyero in Wicked, opposite Idina Menzel and Kristin Chenoweth at the Apollo Victoria.

In 2008, Garcia reunited with Arlene Phillips, this time on screen in her ITV1 musical drama Britannia High, playing the role of a dance teacher.

In 2009, Garcia made a cameo appearance in the cult New Zealand comedy series Flight of the Conchords, and, in December 2009, he starred alongside Michelle Ryan, Sean Maguire and Lynda Bellingham in the ITV1 romantic comedy drama, Mister Eleven.

2010 saw Garcia take his place on the judging panel of Sky1 HD's entertainment series Got To Dance.

In 2011 he played the role of Dave in the sitcom Threesome.
