Mandla Hlatshwayo (24 November, 1976 - 14 May, 2017) was a South African actor best known for his role as Siphiwe Phosa on the SABC1 soapie Generations, a role he played for seven years (1999 - 2006).

The Soweto-born actor's break into television came in 1996 when he starred in SABC1's Soul City 2. He also presented the youth magazine programme Electric Workshop.

His other television credits include Last Hope, Deafening Silence, Kelebone and The Lab.

Previously a member of the Chiawela Community Theatre Group, Mandla also tried his hand at industrial theatre. In 1998 he worked for Blue Moon – one of South Africa's leading industrial theatre companies.

Hlatshwayo was well known on the club scene as DJ Mandla, and released his first album in 2006 called Jozi Nights Volume 1.

In January 2007 he took on the role of Dr Victor Ngubane on the e.tv soapie Backstage.

Mandla was shot dead on Sunday 14 May, 2017, during a robbery at a pub in Pimville, Soweto. He was 40.
