ABOUT
M-Net Series Reality was one of three channels that arose from the now-defunct M-Net Series channel in July 2013, the other two being M-Net Series Showcase and M-Net Series Zone.
As the name suggests, M-Net Series Reality catered to the fans of real-life series. Reality fare like Junior MasterChef, Life after Top Chef, The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and supermodel Naomi Campbell's The Face made their African television premieres here.
Apart from these reality shows, the best in talk shows were also scheduled on the channel. This meant that viewers were able to find two of the most popular genres on global television - reality and talk shows - all in one place.
The channel closed down on Sunday 12 October 2014, at 23h59, along with premium sister channel M-Net Series Showcase. They were replaced by two new premium, HD channels in the M-Net stable: Vuzu Amp and M-Net Edge. The reason for their closure was that M-Net wanted their premium content to be available together, as opposed to on genre-specific channels.
