SCARY Apple TV+ orders 10-episode series of psychological thriller Cape Fear, executively produced by Steven Spielberg and Martin Scorsese who directed the 1991 film. Spanish actor Javier Bardem plays the Robert De Niro role of Max Cady, a killer who stalks and torments the lawyer who put him in in prison after he's released. Based on the novel The Executioners. First made into a movie in 1962. Cady's crime is different in the series to the movies. >>

SCARY CBS Justice to air new two-part documentary O.J. Simpson: Blood Lies and Murder with new evidence from the lead detective in the case Tom Lange. He claims the evidence proves that the late O.J. was guilty of murdering his ex-wife Nicole Brown and her friend Ron Goldman. O.J. was acquitted of murder 30 years ago. Airs Thursday 5 and Friday 6 December at 20h00.

COOL Western Cape fishing village Hawston features in new kykNET rugby doc Klubhuis (Clubhouse), about the intense rugby scene amongst players who don't play at a provincial or national level. Hawston's an interesting place between Fisherhaven and Hermanus, with an Olympic-sized pool. Arendsvlei star Sherman Pharo (Thys) hails from the village. He's a fisherman by trade - started acting in 2003. Klubhuis premieres 13 December at 20h00 and Hawston headlines Episode 5.

WTF?! S3 yanks the Miss Universe pageant because of Mia le Roux's withdrawal. Ridiculous. It's like punishing viewers for the fact that South Africa isn't being represented anymore. Just because Mia isn't in it, doesn't mean people don't want to see it - especially now that S3's become "The pageant channel".

YOH! MultiChoice recorded a brain-melting loss of R1.8-billion in the past six months. Another 400,000 South Africans have unsubscribed from DStv with a total of 1.8 million subscribers lost across Africa. This was revealed in the company's latest financial report for 31 March to 30 September 2024.

BEHIND THE SCENES The cast of Yellowstone had no clue what their fellow characters would say before they started filming scenes for the fifth and final season. This from Jennifer Landon (Teeter): "“We get these redacted scripts. Basically, everything is blacked out except for your lines.” This was to secure secrecy around storylines. BAH! Not-so-SuperSport bangs on about being "Here for Her" but they aren't broadcasting the women's Big Bash cricket tournament currently happening in Australia. RIP 7de Laan creator Danie Odendaal died on Wednesday 30 October at his home in Langebaan where he's lived for the past six years. Cause of his death hasn't been disclosed. He was 77. Did you know? Danie had the idea for 7de Laan in the mid-1980s when he’d have breakfast at an Oppiekoffie type shop in Melville where he’d watch people go by and wonder about their stories.
