Gary Mehigan is a British-born Australian chef, restaurateur and television personality best known as a judge on the cooking competition reality series MasterChef Australia, since 2009.
Mehigan also co-hosts two shows on Australia's Lifestyle Food Channel: Good Chef, Bad Chef and Boy's Weekend.
Having received training in world class restaurants, including The Connaught and Le Souffle in London in his early years, Gary has been based in Melbourne since 1991.
He has headed the kitchen in some of the city's most prominent restaurants, including Browns, Burnham Beeches Country House and Hotel Sofitel before opening the award winning Fenix in 2000. He also owns the Maribyrnong Boathouse restaurant.
Before MasterChef, Mehigan was teaching Australians to cook through the LifeStyle Channel's Boy's Weekend and Good Chef, Bad Chef and via a number of best selling cookbooks including Gary Mehigan's Comfort Food and Your Place or Mine with fellow MasterChef judge George Calombaris.
