As we spilt in the
TVSA News Shorts, former Glow TV soapie Saras begins a run on Star Life on Tuesday 5 November, replacing Imlie which wraps the night before.
Saras starts at the very beginning of the 403 episode series, now retitled Saras & Kumud for this run.
The story centres round young aristocrat Saraswatichandra and Kumud, the daughter of one of his father's friends.
Saras is traumatised by his mother's suicide and rejects an arranged marriage with Kumud, organised by their fathers.
He writes to tell her and she challenges him to tell her father. Saras be brave because he goes to her village to do this, meets Kumud and next thing... boom!
Former child actress Jennifer Winget plays Kumud and Gautam Rode portrays Saras. These were breakout roles for both of them.

Episode 1
Saraswatichandra attends his father Laxminandan Vyas' birthday party, while Kumud's family informs her about Saraswatichandra's marriage proposal.

Laxminandan is furious when Saraswatichandra refuses to marry Kumud. Meanwhile, Kumud's father shows her a photo of Saraswatichandra, and Ghuman starts plotting against him.
