Damian Lewis returns with a new lead role in Showtime's hit series Homeland.
As spilt in the
New on M-Net section, it premieres on Wednesday, 18 April at 20h30 and co-stars Claire Danes, who speaks in her actual voice as per usual.
Unlike Damian Lewis who doesn't and never has. He was on The Graham Norton Show recently and I was stumped to discover that he speaks full-on British and isn't American at all.
I don't know why I've never known it but I haven't. Hearing him on the show was twilight zone stuff because I couldn't work out whether I'm alone in not knowing what he sounds like or not and also, it really highlighted how convincing his performances are.
It shouldn't have been so surprising considering loads of actors act in different accents, i.e. the two Hugh's: Laurie and Jackman. It got me thinking that it's different with them though because they've both acted in their real accents and are very vocal and out-there with them whereas I've never seen Damian
not being American.
