Ice Prince (real name Panshak Zamani) is a Nigerian hip hop artist and rapper best known for his hit song Oleku, which also features on his 2011 album Everybody Loves Ice Prince.
Born in Minna in Niger State, he moved to Jos two years later. He began writing music in 1998 and later formed a group with a couple of his friends called the Ecomog Squad. They had a few performances as a group and split a year later.
In 2004, he got together with M.I, Jesse Jagz, Ruby, Lindsey, Eve, Taz and together they became a group known as Loopy.
Since then he has become a solo star across the continent, primarily driven by the hit Oleku. The song, featuring Brymo, saw Ice Prince win Most Gifted Newcomer Video at the 8th Annual Channel O Music Video Awards.
His chart-toppers Superstar and Magician (Remix), featuring Gyptian, saw him earn a nomination for Most Gifted Hip Hop Video as well as Most Gifted Ragga Dancehall Video at the 9th Annual Channel O Music Video Awards, in 2012.
Ice Prince has cited that his music has been influenced by artist such as Notorious B.I.G., Rakim, Jay-Z, Common, Talib Kweli, Kanye West, Ludacris, Busta Rhymes, Lauryn Hill, M.I. and Jesse Jagz.
