Bonginkosi Twala is a South African actor best known for his starring role as Menzo in the SABC1 drama series Gaz'lam, from 2002-2005.
He is also known for his recurring roles as Jo-Man in the SABC1 sitcom My Perfect Family and as Bra Simon in the Mzansi Magic drama series Rockville.
Bongi was born in 1973 in Soweto and went to school in Orlando West. He never had any formal training in acting, but picked up tips from actor Monde Mayephu.
In 1997 he started taking acting seriously when he performed in his first appearance in a play entitled Umkhaya Lo! written by the late Essrom Nkomonde.
After this Bongi got a small part as a dancer in the international movie Who I Am by Jacky Chan. In 1997 he appeared in the play Too Young To Die written Monde Mayephu and won a Civic Theatre award for Best Actor.
His other theatre credits include roles The Red Door Case, Deep In The Cocalala and Umdlewembe. He has also acted in a number of industrial theatre productions.
He's made appearances in the short films Like Dead End, Transit cafe and Norman Comes To Jozi and his TV credits include roles in the series Yizo Yizo and Isozo Connexion.
In 2012 he had a guest starring role in the SABC1 sitcom Abo Mzala and in 2013 guested on the Mzansi Magic comedy-drama series Boomba & TT and the SABC1 political thriller End Game.
He recurred as Bra Simon on Rockville in its first season in 2013, returning for the next two seasons in 2014 and 2015.
