4 Hours is a South African television thriller miniseries produced by Magic Factory which follows Jacob Boy, a policeman who turns bad when forced to save his family from a kidnapper who has hidden them somewhere in Soweto with only four hours of oxygen, meaning they will die in four hours unless Jacob kills four other policemen.
The series originally aired on Mzansi Magic from 1-22 February 2014, on Saturdays at 18h00. New episodes broadcast weekly. The series later aired on Mzansi Wethu. See "Seasons" below for seasonal broadcast dates and times.

Synopsis
A rookie police officer, Jacob Boy, is hijacked and kidnapped by a dying notorious township crime boss on his first day of work. Jacob later learns that his family has been kidnapped and buried alive somewhere in Soweto - and he has four hours to save them.
Jacob is a family man, who is forced to turn bad in a desperate attempt to save his family.
The kidnapper, a wealthy Soweto businessman, wants revenge on other cops who have turned their backs on him and who gave him poison that will kill him within four hours.
To get back at them he kidnaps Jacob's family, hides them somewhere with only four hours of oxygen and gives Jacob an ultimatum: kill the four cops who have killed him, or his family dies.
4 Hours was produced for Magic Factory by Alda Venter with executive producer Patronella Sello. The director was Vivek Mehta and it was written by Ross van Leeve with head writers Julie Hall and Katleho Ramaphakela.
