Season 2

Wire in the Blood centres around Dr. Tony Hill, who is intelligent, compassionate and one of the most brilliant criminal profilers in the business.

Hill is a clinical psychologist who works as a university lecturer while maintaining a practice helping convicted serial criminals.

He is also an irreplaceable asset to the police force when they're perplexed by the 'unbreakable' cases.

Drafted in by the police to build criminal profiles, Tony teams up with the driven but sensitive Detective Inspector Carol Jordan to tackle seemingly impenetrable cases and beat the killers and the clock before they strike again.

Through a combination of scientific expertise and an obsessive fascination with the criminal mind, Tony takes an intense but vivid journey into the world of the killer; this enables him to almost see the crime before it happens.

Each week, it's a race against time as Tony tries to anticipate the next step before the killer strikes again.

Set in the fictional city of Bradfield, the darker side of northern England comes to light in this series.

In Season II, Dr Hill is called on by Detective Inspector Carol Jordan once again in a bid to anticipate a serial killer's next step before it's too late.

He is faced with bodies discovered under ancient remains, a killer apparently committing murder while behind bars and a case that gets a little close to home.

In Season III, the tense, brooding profiler is dogged by personal insecurities that add to the pressure of his police work and threaten to overwhelm him.

In four compelling new cases, Tony and Carol tackle the abduction and murder of vulnerable children, hunt a schizophrenic killer, investigate brutal homicides that bear the hallmarks of a notorious killer turned media pundit and hunt down an anonymous sniper behind apparently motiveless attacks.

As work puts pressure on their close but uneasy partnership, they face increasingly tough dilemmas in their private lives making their investigation even more intense and personal.

Carol's biological clock is ticking fast, while Tony confronts his own mortality when he is diagnosed with a brain tumor.
