Season 2
The second season of the DJ talent search returns with actress, presenter and radio personality Thando Thabethe continuing in her role as host presenter.
1's and 2's Season 2 auditions took place all over Mzansi (Durban, Cape Town and Jo'burg) and saw thousands of young, talented DJs and Producers bringing their very best, in the hopes of claiming the title of 1's & 2's Master of Spin and a grand prize comprising: a complete professional production studio valued at R100,000 an album deal due for local and international release.
The Season 2 auditioning process, judged mainly by DJ Sphectacula and DJ Naves, produced the Top 36 contenders. The two judges will be assisted by high-profile guest DJs in the 13-week long competition in search of a worthy Season 2 'Master of Spin' winner.
In the first episode of Season 2, Thando welcomes viewers back by re-capping and highlighting the journey of Season 1 that saw DJ Mshega being crowned Mzansi's very first Master of Spin.
The show heads off to the first auditions at the BAT Centre in Durban where the judges are joined by Durban's DJ Tira to assist in the selection of contenders.
Then it's off to Cape Town at the Mercury Live Music Venue to see who the top performing contenders are. DJ Loyd from Goodhope FM was the Guest Judge for the auditions in the Mother City.
The episode concludes with a montage of the highlights of the following week's audition action in Jozi.
SABC1 and I Love That Productions, alongside numerous music celebrities and music industry role players, created this platform to develop young South Africans with talent and grant them the opportunity to transform and develop their talent into successful careers.
The series is hosted by Thando Thabethe, with judges DJ Sphectacula and DJ Naves.
The second season was won by Prince Kaybee.
