Season 3
For the Goodman family, Friday night dinner is just like Sunday lunch – just take two days away, add an extra course and you've pretty much got it.
Adam and his brother Jonny view Friday night dinner as a necessary annoyance. Necessary because they get fed, and annoying because they have to spend the evening with Mum and Dad.
It's not that Mum and Dad aren't wonderful, they really are. But Dad slugs ketchup straight from the bottle, Mum is obsessed with cooking shows, and Grandma likes to wear her new bikini around the house.
Of course every family has its foibles, but the Goodmans have made something of an art form of theirs.
Featuring an ensemble cast including Simon Bird (Inbetweeners) and Tamsin Greig (Episodes, Green Wing), Friday Night Dinner is an original series about growing up but not growing away.
In Season 3, Adam gains a new female admirer – a nine-year-old girl, Jonny gets the world's worst tattoo, Dad gives the boys a graphic lecture on sex education and tries to hide a dead frozen fox from Mum.
Mum practices being a counsellor on her horrified family, Grandma goes back out with the terrifying Mr Morris, neighbour Jim accidentally swallows his dog's sleeping pills and... there's a wedding.
