Season 6 Synopsis
Afro Café returns for a sixth season and introduces a new host in the form of Stoan Seate - popularly known as the front man of the group Bongo Maffin. He replaces Pepsi Pokane, who hosted the first five seasons of the show.
Another new addition to the show is Liopelo Maphathe, who becomes the eyes and ears at events around the country as the insert presenter.
The first episode features Judith Sephuma, who's just released a new album titled Change Is Here. Stoan also introduces us to new Xhosa AfroPop, Soul and R 'n B muso, Roger.
Afro Café is more than just a music programme - it blends the best music Africa has to offer with a talk show, interviewing artists and up and coming musicians as part of the show.
Presented in English and Sotho the show aims to showcase new African music talent, with the focus on music breaking down cultural boundaries.
Afro Café is also a vehicle to highlight up-and-coming artists and venues of interest.
Each one-hour edition is a mixed bag of live music, music videos, artist interviews and related inserts.
