Season 6

O-Access is a South African hip hop and R&B music magazine show produced by Bounce Back Media and hosted by Nonhle Thema (Seasons 1-4) and Dineo Moeketsi (Seasons 5 and 6) for Channel O. Shot entirely on location, the show interviews some of the music industry's biggest stars.

The series originally aired on DStv's Channel O channel from 4 March, 2007 to 29 May, 2012. There are 78 half-hour episodes in six seasons. The series later aired on DStv's Mzansi Wethu channel, beginning with Season 5. See "Seasons" below for seasonal broadcast dates and times.

Season 6 originally aired on Channel O from 6 March to 29 May, 2012, on Tuesdays at 21h00. New episodes broadcast weekly.

Season 6 premiered on Mzansi Wethu on Monday 12 August 2013, at 20h00. New episodes broadcast weekly. There are 13 episodes in the sixth and final season.

Season 6

Since taking the reigns of O-Access in 2011, host Dineo Moeketsi has tracked down and interviewed a number of heavy hitters on the global entertainment scene – while having a load of fun herself.

This season is split into three different themes: The A-listers, Next Level and Lifestyle. Next Level and Lifestyle interchange in every episode.

Next Level takes a look at upcoming stars of the music industry.

The Lifestyle element gives a look into Dineo's life overseas as she delves into what a day in the life of a celebrity is like in the United States of America. Whether it be salsa dancing classes or chatting to famous make-up artists and hair stylists who have worked with the likes of Rihanna, Kelly Rowland, to mention a few; viewers will get to know the makings of a true star.

The A-listers is a permanent fixture in each episode as this is a sit down interview with established stars in the music industry who have made their mark, proving that they are here for the long haul.

O-Access also scored a coup when Dineo interviewed Mary J Blige, one of the most enduring R&B superstars and a woman whose past is as intriguing as what lies ahead.

Also interviewed this season is US songwriter and singer, Robin Thicke as well as the British wunderkind, Estelle. The list of star interviewees continues with rapper and songwriter, Kendrick Lamar (who toured with Drake) as well as American R&B singer and songwriter and Def Jam recording artist, Chrisette Michele.

Also on Season 6 of O-Access is an interview with controversial rapper Waka Flocka Flame whose single "Round of Applause" featuring Drake caused a stir.

In Season 5 Dineo sat down with Mindless Behavior, the teen boy band which consists of members Prodigy, Roc Royal, Ray Ray and Princeton – less than a year later the group became bona fide stars and Dineo caught up with them to see how their lives changed since being thrust into the spotlight.

Factor in interviews with Lloyd, J Cole, Big Sean, B.O.B. and many more and you have a not-to-be-missed series for any entertainment fan.

Season 6 is the final instalment of O-Access.

Background

Interviewing and hobnobbing with some of the entertainment industry's biggest stars, hosts Nonhle Thema (2007-2010) and Dineo Moeketsi (2011-2012) go on location in exotic destinations like New York City, Los Angeles, Toronto, Madrid, Miami and Jamaica in search of the hottest behind-the-scenes gossip.

The aim of the show is to "get under the skin of the entertainment world's biggest stars in a uniquely African way".

Stars inteviewed for the show include 50 Cent, Craig David, Rihanna, John Legend, Alicia Keys, Beyoncé, Nelly Furtado, TI, Ne-yo and Jamie Foxx.

During the location shoots the host keeps viewers up-to-date with their encounters in Los Angeles, Las Vegas and other cities through the O-Boma Social Networking platform.

Nonhle left the show after four seasons prompting a nationwide presenter search in 2010, which was won by actress and singer Dineo Moeketsi.
