39 year-old Jude is the eldest female contestant which just seems odd to me. There are no women over forty on this edition of Survivor? What an unusually young bunch. I guess the producers had a hard time finding retired models and had to stick with the young working kind.
However, Jude is not a model. She is a platoon commander, body language expert and hostage negotiator in the SAPS. Wow. If ever there was an ideal profession to go on Survivor, a hostage negotiator who’s trained in interpreting body language just might be it.
Her luxury item would be a Leatherman knife, which ties with fishing line for most useful luxury item. She sounds like a potential big player. She says she’s resolute and confident, a born leader and team player, and the whole hostage negotiation thing means she’s a master of manipulation who’s not easily fooled.
However she does say she often finds herself leading a group without intending it to happen. Could this be because she has such an abrasive and dominant personality that she ends up taking over no matter what she does or is she just that natural and charismatic a leader?
I would make a comment on the fact that she’s a short-haired female police officer who plays lots of sports, leads platoons and places great faith in Leatherman knives but doing
Amy from Guatemala’s bio taught me all about making assumptions about people’s sexuality based on certain stereotypical traits. I will point out however that unlike Amy, Jude is single so the assumptions could totally be true.
