EPISODE ELEVENYup - I just knew things were gonna work out this way and that the Weavers would get to
stay and possibly WIN. It's all a brutal done deal though so there's nothing to be done except to spend the next two weeks praying to every God from every religion and cult that they reach the loser no-cash grisly end they deserve.
That said it's hardly like the Godlewski's ended up deserving being in the final three more. Their self-destruction has been too horrible to see and the worst was how it ended with them lying about how they love each other. That seriously topped their suck-fest - they've obviousy convinced themselves it's true to make themselves feel less guilty about their sibling loathing.
They have to go down as the only team in the history of the Race to look double their age after what should have been a thrilling experience, which is sad when you think about it. The way that Sandra sulkily muttered that their relationships would be the same when they got home was depressing - clearly she doesn't want things to change and never has.
The hopeless hell of tears and Philimination started for them from the moment they had the opportunity of catching up at the start of the episode and didn't use it. What a complete cop-out the continuation was. All it was was a pitstop said another way! That sleep they had was girnomous too because when they turned out their lights it was still light.
After sleeping for approximately 14 hours everyone woke at about 6am to be ready to dash across a field to a car at 7am where oddball dudes where waiting to drive them. They did a short trip across the Wyoming plains and arrived at their Detour which involved them choosing between putting wheels on a wagon and adding horses or erecting a tepee under the watchful eye of a cool Chief type.
Don't you find it interesting how Amercians always seem so comfortable with horses even when they live in the city? I'd lurve to ride a horse but I never have and even just steering one by it' s snoot would make me think I was doing the wrong thing.
It was no surprise that the McConaughey Linz's managed to not only complete their wagon wheeling first but they also looked super cowboying across the plain - although I thought they should have steered themselves for the full effect .
The Bransens didn't do too badly either and Wally reminded me soo much of Harrison Ford in every movie he's been in. I never thought I'd like him - Wally, not Harrison, - but things have changed and I even have moments of feeling sorry for him when the girls get cliquey and boring - like after the wagon stint when they put on their Buffalo Bill outfits at the Irma hotel and didn't get into it like he did.
Both the Bransens and Linz's went on to find Buffalo Bill in town and left behind the Weavers and Gotlewski's who'd chosen to do the tepee's and got into a dilemma when they found they couldn't reach the topmost corners. Those teepees were awesome and were also responsible for providing the Godboobies with their only redeeming moment because Chris's face lifting Sandra was the funniest thing ever.
I didn't even mind the adbreaks that came in between 'cos I was having such a good laugh. Eventually, after spending forever trying to get them sorted the Weavers managed to finish and sped off after the others, leaving the sisters who spent at least another two hours trying to put the final screw thing in.
At the Irma Hotel the Linz's had their pic's taken with Buffalo Bill first, then the Bransens and Weavers and everyone was gone by the time the sisters straggled in and embarassingly flirted and wasted time with Buffalo. Hey - I just realised something!
You know how Michelle was going about there being no romance on the trip about six weeks ago already? Maybe part of them turning so especially insane has to do with them not coping with not having sex for so long? Could be, particularly with how they didn't seem stressed about wasting time when they were as behind as they were.
Seeing everyone's response to the seeing their photo was interesting too. Grr - I don't like to mention it but I did have just a bit of sadness for the Weaver Pigs when they put themselves down in the pics. They weren't fishing for compliments from each other either which made the moment last a bit longer. Luckily it was soon forgotten when they got excellently pulled over by Traffic for speeding. There's nothing as satisfying as seeing those who think they're perfect getting into trouble.
It also gave the Bransens and Weavers plenty of time to get to wherever they were going which was either to the Roadblock or the pitstop, I can't remember which. At the Roadblock each team had to take a groovy golf car and find four colour co-ordinated balls which is where the Bransens beat the Linz's who made the mistake of not looking into the golf ball holes and missed their final ball.
It's the first time we've seen the Linz's get aggitated with themselves which is obviously the effect of things heating up for the end. Thankfully they didn't need to worry too much and their finishing second was perfect - who would have kept hat snazzy car if they'd won? Knowing the Linz's they'll be happy for the Bransens - it suits the Bransens more too I thought.
It was a wonderful prize for the winner, although four golf buggies added to it would have purrfect. It's very strange because the way things currently are with the final three I'm quite pleased. The Linz's are my faves for the win but I also wouldn't mind if the Bransens do.
Hang on ... I've just realised! - it's how I've felt previously but right this very moment, after seeing the changes in them, I'd prefer the Bransens to win. The Linz's have been excellent fun and their positivity's catchy but they're also always so tough and generally sorted that if the Bransens do it it's gonna be much more of an achievement across the race as a whole - which officially makes them my faves.
As for the Weavers - seeing them try but come last is gonna be very brilliant.
I'm off to look for a teepee to do creepy things in as a sacrifice that it happens!
