Here it is, the moment you've all been waiting for. The winner of the Survivor South Africa Prediction League is....

Episode 13

 The final set of questions turned out to be trickier than some would have though, since the finale ended in such an unpredictable and unexpected manner. Not one person guessed that Vanessa would win, and most thought Mzi would at least be in the Final 2. A lot of people suffered, especially in the Jury Voting count. The highest score was 64 from Jayps and Andy, who's only errors were saying that Zayn would vote for Jacinda. Close one dude!

  Our final weekly score set is dominated by Andy, who guessed all of the challenge outcomes correctly! Jayps finished second, and Pumba and Earthie tied for third. here are the rest of the scores.

 Well, here we are. The final final thing. If you don't mind, I think I'm going to drag it out a bit ;-)

I'm going to give you statistical breakdowns for the following game sections: Weekly Scores, Winner Poll, Delayed Bonus Questions, and 'Medals', before we get on to who won the whole shebang.

Breakdown 1: Weekly Scores

 Weekly Scores arise from your guesses for everything except the Winner, and Delayed Bonus Questions. It's what you scored guessing who would win challenges, who would be voted out, and our assorted regular weekly bonus questions.

 After a really good finish, the person who scored the most Weekly Points is Andy!  In fact, as you'll see a little later, Andy finished at the the top more often than anyone else (other than Paige). Well done Andy!

Breakdown 2: Winner Poll

 The Winner Poll has, in the past, been a very dominant part of our Prediction Leagues - sometimes too dominant, dwarfing all other aspects of the game. Lingo recently scaled the points down for this section to normalise this situation, and we carried this over to this League.

 Most people started guessing their Winner with the likes of Nico, Sanele, Jude, even Don. The biggest favourite, Gareth, was knocked out at number 5. It's no surprise then that most people suffered a great deal in this section.

 One person who did not suffer much was Shirmell, who only ever guessed within the top 5 (Zayn, Gareth, Mzi, and Jacinda) and thus scored the most points in this section. Well done!

Breakdown 3: Delayed Bonus Questions

 The DBs are always fun and quite lucrative if you guess some of them correctly. For a 'blind' Prediction League (i.e. no inside information) we had 16 DBs! They ended up playing a pretty big role in the outcome of the game.


 Once again, it's Shirmell who tops this list! Shirms scored points for guessing the Entire Final Four, as well as the nuimber of tied votes, 80 points for the final 8 order, the episode in which the DMI players returned, and 154 points for guessing who would return.

 A Special mention must go to Riet, who is only 2 points behind Shirmell. Well done both of you!

Breakdown 4: Medals

 You earn a 'Medal' by finishing in the Top 3. this is a pretty big indicator of consistency and of who will do well in the end.

 Taking home the most medals for her team is our Tribal Talker, Cloud9! Right behind her is Brigitte-oggling Jayps, followed by late-surger, Six.

 If all you're interested in is gold medals, you'll see that it was indeed Andy and Paige who finished first the most. Well done ladies!

 And here we are: the very end. It's been grueling and trying and lots of blood sweat and tears have gone into this fantastic game. Alas, all things must end.

 Without further ado, the winner of the TVSA Survivor South Africa Prediction League is....




Cloud9 hopped into the top 3 in week 3 and just didn't let go. She battled it out with Pumba and Paige for the lead over the past 4 weeks, but finally triumphed. Andy continued her massive surge to the top, hitting second place and bumping previous leaders into 3rd and fourth.  Pumba played really hard to move from 7th place all the way to the top, finally settling into 3rd place. Paige finished in fourth place, only FOUR points behind Pumba. Fingolfin finished off the top 5.
