Survivor SA Aftermath Party: Pics and Goss

On Sunday evening I caught the Survivor SA Finale as part of the live studio audience that consisted of the Survivors family and friends, members of the press and people involved in the production.

The shindig officially started at 4:30pm with everyone being welcomed to M-Net by lethal cocktails (I guzzled down two and got zombified) before going into the studio at 5pm to catch the final episode of the show on big screens.

What we saw was exactly what you got to see except we didn’t see any footage of Mark whizzing through to the studio via helicopter. I have no clue why we didn’t but knew we were missing something when the episode ended in a way I can’t remember, which had something to do with the cocktails obviously.

Once it was over Mark arrived in the flesh, chatted to everyone by way of introductions and then the Finale started with each of the Survivors arriving and refusing to say anything worthwhile in between watching the action on the big screens too.

To the side of the stage was a teleprompter with Mark’s script and the structure of things and during the adbreaks a band played while a couple of Survivors pretended to speak each other.

Danielle did a lot of looking at and touching of Gareth, Brigitte schmodelled it up big time, Ncumisa guffawed that she hadn’t lost any weight on the island, Sam was wearing the most ridiculous girlie sandals I’ve ever seen in my life and Mark hovered smilingly, instead of braining the contestants for being so rubbish.

It’s been mentioned that he lambasted them for not communing with him when he asked them questions but I didn’t see or hear him doing this.

Jacinda and Vanessa then came out together with whoops of calls from the audience as to who they wanted to see win and while Mark read the final votes the members of the jury all sat bolt upright with their eyes popping madly.

Vanessa was announced the winner, pyrotechnics went crazy and the Survivors all hugged each other while everyone went out to hit the party.

The press first went to a press conference where I asked Vanessa who she’d have chosen to take to the final two if there'd been no challenge between Mzi and Jacinda and she said Jacinda.

The conference ended with everyone snapping Vanessa while fighting some huge production dude who kept insisting on standing right in front of her while chowing down grub. He literally had to be shoved out of the way!

Then it was off to the party that included lots of sushi, prawns, fried Jelopeno peppers and Survivors either hanging out together or avoiding each other. I hotfooted it ‘round to scoop out exactly who was up to what:

Our very own TVSA Survivor Ncumisa was tripsing around with Harry - her Survivor mentor and “close” friend. A crazed Survivor lover, Harry entered both himself and Ncumisa into the show but didn’t get an audition.

When Ncumisa got a callback he advised her to take a huge fish along with her as proof of what she’d catch if she got onto the show, which both seemed to think impressed the selectors a lot.

As you can see Ncumisa was looking gorge and was also very popular - a number of people asked her for her autograph, which she signed with her signature laugh.

Mark was in the thick of things throughout looking sooo slurpy it was impossible to breathe while taking the pic.

I got up super-close for all of chickdom and insisted on two replica pics which gave me time to cling to him for as long as possible. I know my cam takes forever to warm up between pics - which is why I sneakily insisted we take two so we didn't have to move for about five steamy minutes.

Nicotene was surrounded by huge bellows of smoke everywhere he went and had millions of bags with him. He also had pen cigarettes in his pockets which he showed me, explaining that he's going into the pen business. I just can't believe he'd actually think they'll really sell.

Nico's son Alexi and his wife Joann were there in full force with him. Joann's such a sex kitten you have no idea. I should have asked to her show her outfit more - it was a seriously slinky number that you can't properly see in the pic. Beneath the black jacket she had on an open-tummied black top that revealed some humdinging cleavage.

Danielle enjoying a girl-on-girl kiss big time. Definite confirmation of our Danielle chick-lurve suspicions methinks.

Gareth's family partied like wild things. In the pic are his dad Richard, his mom Liz and his sister Tarryn. His dad was a madmen who hung out with the smokers and didn't stop talking. All of them were still there when everyone trundled out late as the party wound down.

Gareth and his girlfriend Katharine. Gareth went off to chat to different people every now and then but kept returning to her and each time he did his hands got up to very dirrrty things with her jeans.

Lezel spent every moment boogying on the dancefloor with her boyfriend Aai. At least I think that's his name - I've never heard such a name before. How cool and expressive is it?

Sanele and his girlfriend Landi divided their time between dancing up a storm with Sanele's cousins and hovering 'round tables chatting. If the zinging flinging moves Sanele was pulling with Landi are anything to go by - his wounded arm's totally sorted.

Jude and her hubby Andries pulled some fierce moves too. All my lesbo Jude suspicions were snipped in the butt seeing them 'cos they're very much in lurve.

Speaking of butt's - I so had to snap Zayn's supposedly smaller one obviously. He was literally moments away from delivering us some cracking moon.

Sam and Brigitte's boyfriend Roland. The pic says it all. More pics of Roland are available on request if you'd like a clearer idea of who you'll be up against if you want to fight for Brigitte.

Jacinda and her bo Hansie Skitter who described himself as "Hansie as in Cronje and Skitter as in Mike". Jacinda didn't leave the dance floor once throughout the party and danced right next to Lezel and Aai through it all.

I had to save this one for last. Snapping this pic was waaay hotter than I even imagined it would be! I thought of every one of us who've fanned Mzi all season and was so finished after taking this pic that I had to guzzle a vodka and orange juice in one go to try to resuscitate myself.

Trust me when I tell you - those fishes must have all been girls who literally flung themselves at his fishing line the moment they sensed his mojo.

In between snapping all the pics I also spotted various other verry interesting things like:

- Nicotene and Brigitte didn’t say one word to each other, despite hanging out in the same area generally.
- Zayn was very buddy-buddy with Jude and also Gareth’s parents.
- Sam spent copious amounts of time talking to Brigitte’s parents.
- Jude’s kids drank like fishes.
- Brigitte’s dad was very protective of her and followed her around a lot.
- Don disappeared completely.
- Vanessa was only around a bit 'cos of doing interviews etc but I spotted her in a moment and she was smoking like a wild thing.
- Mzi was there all alone.
