After
Danielle DiLorenzo brutally betrayed Terry by choosing
Aras to go with her to the final Survivor Two I was naturally verry iffy about chatting to her and her boobs.
Of course I had to put myself though the torture to get the goss for us so I plotted revenge for Terry lurvers by making a scene about the Bob Dog thing.
Here's what she had to say:
Tashi: Hi Danielle, congrats on making it to the Top 2. I’ve watched Survivor for forever but more and more it’s been striking me how lonely it must be when you’re out there. The idea that you can’t just talk to someone honestly and have a gossip without them using it against you. How alone did you feel?
Danielle: You do - you’re away from your family, you’re alone on an island with 15 people that you really don’t know and you’re playing against them to see who can win a million dollars. It really can feel very, very lonely.
You try to control it by having a couple of people you can trust but it’s difficult 'cos you’re playing a game. You just keep yourself there and remember that eventually you’re gonna get back to your family and friends. It’s what keeps you sane and motivated to stay in the game.
Tashi: Did you ever have a moment where you just lost yourself with somebody? Where you forgot you were in Survivor?
Danielle: With Austen, we had a moment on Exile Island when him and I were there. We were pretty much in a tree-trunk for 48 hours. It didn’t stop raining and our clothes were soaked and were fighting hyperthermia. We were really just focused on those two days and Surviving and we both opened up to each other. It was nice.
(Hee - Austen really did successfully follow through on what he said at the beginning about gathering gals.)
Tashi: Were you always super-aware of how you were behaving? Not then - but the rest of the time.
Danielle: Your mind doesn’t stop. You’re constantly trying to analyse the situation, trying to think what everybody else’s thinking and you trying to figure who’s trying to align with who. I barely slept because I would be up thinking at night about my strategy, trying to figure out how to get myself further on in th egame.
Tashi: Did Terry’s prediction come true? Do you look back and think you should have taken the Navy guy?
Danielle: No. Absolutely not. I believe that I made the right decision. I think that Aras played a better game than Terry did. I knew it was gonna be hard to beat either of them but I thought I had a better chance with Aras because we’d had to vote off the same people. No-one had any animosity towards Terry at the end.
Tashi: What do you mean Aras played a better game than Terry??
Danielle: There are three aspects in the game of Survivor to dominate. You need to play the physical, mental and social aspects of the game and I think Aras played all three. Terry didn’t play the social aspect. He played the physical aspect but socially he didn’t dominate it as well as Aras did.
Tashi: If Terry had given you the hidden Immunity Idol so that you didn’t have to face the fire showdown against Cirie - would you have betrayed him by taking Aras to the end?
Danielle: Probably, yeah. I would have taken whoever I thought I had a better chance against. I mean , it was a milion dollars up for grabs.
That said, I would have had to take into account the fact that if I had done that I would definitely have lost Terry's vote so I would have had to pan out in my mind how many votes I thought I had.
I would have just had to go with my gut. It would have been a lose-lose situation - if I took him and he beat me why would I take him? But if I’d told him I was going to take him and didn’t, I would have automatically lost his vote.
Tashi: Did you have a crush on Bob Dog?
Danielle: No. Not at all.
Tashi: He’s said that his friends have said that the reason you had tensions between you was because you had a crush on him.
Danielle: I just think him and I - I honestly don’t know why - we had a tiff. Something was turned around - someone told him something that wasn’t true and he took offence to it and was automatically upset with me. That’s why things started off not too friendly. He’s a great guy and I’m very friendly with him now.
Tashi: When you watched the show and saw his comments and sense of humour - did you see that you hadn’t realised that what he had to say was him joking around?
Danielle: Yeah, a lot of his comments towards me were rude. I didn’t think he was a gentleman. He made some comments to me that were inappropriate, That’s why I had animosity towards him.
Tashi: Why did you choose the number 10 when Shane asked you to choose a number?
Danielle: That’s just my lucky number throughout my whole life. It was the first number that came to mind so I picked it. I played sports all my life and that was my number on my shirt.
Tashi: When you told the jury that your worst move had been voting Courtney off- did you say that to get her vote?
Danielle: I was saying that to try to make her understand it was a mistake. I was trying to earn her respect by saying that. She was upset with me and we spoke after and we’re fine now. She took it personally and I explained to her that it’s a game and that everyone was there for themselves.
She also had a crush on Shane so I was worried about that and I was also told by someone else that she was asking questions about me. What people thought about where I was gonna go so I just got rid of her before she had a chance to get rid of me.
Tashi: Ha, so she
did have a crush on Shane.
Danielle: Her and Shane had a love/hate relationship. One minute they loved each other and the next they hated each other. I strongly believe she had a crush on him. Seeing her in the game with him.
Tashi: Who’s your fave Survivor of all time?
Danielle: Boston Rob. He was just very manipulative and aggressive and he's very successful now.
Tashi: What are you up to now?
Danielle: I relocated to Los Angeles and
I’m acting.
Tashi: What are you acting in?
Danielle: I’ve just finished my first film called
The Game Plan. I don’t have a leading role or anything but I got to work on the film and now I’m enrolled in acting classes.
I’m in three acting classes and I’m working a coach and going to auditions and I have great representation. It’s something I’ve always wanted to do and after the whole Survivor thing, it gave us all the recognition and gave me contacts so I thought I’d give it a shot.
