...
Here are some of the people who made it to the event.
Three-time nominee, Lesego (centre) was there with his friends..
He is nominated for Best Newcomer, Best Pop Album: African & Best Urban Pop Album. I would love to say I told you so but I won't...
A bit of fabulousness required to be thrown in the mix...
And I obliged...
Competing with Lesego in Best Newcomer & Best Urban Pop Album is Madhuvha. She is also nominated for Best Female Artist.
I don't know about her running a petrol garage but I hope she makes it back to Muvhango coz she is one of the few characters I enjoyed.
She was there with her hubby, Tshifhiwa, who must have really needed to go out after a 4-0 beating by the Chloorkop boys, damn I hate Sundowns for being this good!!
Mandoza was there too. A lot of people are surprised by the inclusion of Ngalabesi in the Best Song or is it Song of The Year category, these names are damn confusing!
I don't know why people are surprised, just because the song was not all over the place does not mean it was not great, I love Ngalabesi, I love the whole album, it is hott!!! And no, Mandoza didn't pay me to say that! though...I can think of a couple of ways he could...
Okay, back to work....
You guys remember Lungelo from Popstars? He's got an album out and Channel O pumps his naughty "dirty" video like mad...
L'Vovo is a JOKE, Period!! His song, Bayang'sukela is also up for Song of The Year & Best Kwaito, it's gonna be a tough one, ek se!
I love L'vovo, it is so cool seeing someone so fun and who's able to laugh at himself! I know he won't mind my lil' demo of just how "black" he is!
We took this picture, haikhona, not clear. So we said....
Let's change the angle, move to the other side, he obliged but the picture was still not clear
so I decided to give him a bit of light, seeing the flash was not enough. then....There was L'Vovo, now we could see him!!
Oh, this is my favourite picture of the evening!! I absolutely love Dineo Ranaka (centre). The girl is definitely one of the best two female voices at YFM (the other being Lee, of course). She attended with her friend, Lungile.
Dineo gal, you rock! Keep that energy and coupled with your attitude, you will just go higher and higher!!
Eish, awusabibitheki darly!!
Guffy and his cuteness were there. I am so disappointed at whoever is supposed to be marketing his album! That album should have been on that list somehow and besides that I hate the fact that no-one knows about it... I would like to volunteer my services here...for free, damn!!
Anyway, he's pictured with Zwai, who was there with his fellow Bala Brothers. The Bala family are nominated for Best Urban Gospel Album.
The Jaziel Brothers, who are also known as Ivani, the group signed to Guffy's stable.
They were there as Lesego's producers though. Yep, they are responsible for the magic that is his album.
Nominated for Album of The Year, Best Urban Dance Album & Song of The Year is the delicious looking DJ Sbu!
Oh dear, he's looking good, there is no trace of Mzekezekedom at all!!! Was I wrong for holding him longer than necessary? I need to sit down with this brother.....
I hear there's a new Mzekezeke TV Show in the cards? I wonder what that's about.
There was no way DJ Cleo was gonna take a picture without Brown Dash so we all had to run around the place looking for Brown...phew, at last we got him, picture was taken, Cleo was happy and so are we.
Phew!!
Kelly Khumalo was there, mistaking the event for her photoshoot, I see.
She was looking gorgeous, though I am not sure about her face. Seemed like there were more layers than necessary but hey, I'm not qualified to speak about make up, especially after my O Access incident...eish, ntho tsa makgowa!
Kelly went to pose with the Jaziel Brothers, whom I hear, will be producing some tracks on her next album. Can't wait.
Second from left on this picture, is Mbongeni Ngcizela, who was kind enough to play my photographer on the night. He's also one of the people that sorted my car out at the SAFTA's so thank you broer, you are so appreciated!!
Afterwards Kelly went to join the Gay Pride parade.
I read one of the papers on Sunday and they were saying Somizi is 34? Really, did they pause his age for a good couple of years or something?
He didn't get a nomination for his Voom trouble, neither did her get anything for his beef with Chomee.
I think we should have a new category next year, Best Beef Award and then at least TS & GR can enter too.
Oh, and the rumour about 3Sum working on an album with Khanyi Mbau is not a rumour, it's true. This guy, is it Koyo? Anyway, the guy/gal in red confirmed that they are working on it and it will be out around April/May. Yho, ha ra le bona!!
Kelly Khumalo & Prosper Mkwaiwa are the weirdest couple in Mzansi and if I had not seen them with my own eyes, I would still not have believed that they truly are a couple. So he is the one that finally stopped the "I'm a virgin" talk. Sad indeed.
What is it with non South African men and these jackets anyway?
Anyway, we wish Kelly & Prosper, all the best in their relationship. Hopefully his marriage will be over soon enough for them to get married.
First of all, I did not want to be in this picture.
Secondly, he didn't have to hold me so tight. Phat Joe baby, I really couldn't breathe!!
Phat Joe has this theory that he shouldn't be alone in the picture because we will photoshop it and put a strange woman in it.
Which means he must have a person in the pic and if he does then that person should be held so close that the picture cannot be edited etc. Paranoia? Nah, I think he should slow down on the drinking!
I know his lips are big and all but I can't help wondering what kissing them feels like....
I AM ONLY WONDERING....heish!!
