My Do's & Don'ts For The Yellow Carpet!

Written by Brown Shuga from the blog SHUGAS BLOGIWOOD on 28 Mar 2007
Favourite this post

So looking foward to catching all the red carpet , umm I mean, yellow carpet action come April 14th.
There's just something about it that appeals to me. I don't care if I miss the actual show but I can't miss the carpet, gotta see the carpet!

Here are just a few of my DO & DON'TS for my fab Mzansi stars.

I love Vatiswa Ndara, she's one of my favourite actresses and I think she's a cool newsreader too and so I'd like to warn her against going to the event looking like this woman.

Tisha

"Sad thing about this picture is that Tisha Campbell Martin actually thinks she's sexy...
Just how the hell did she get Duane to marry her??

And speaking of sexy things, I would love to urge Siyabonga Ngwekazi, if he's going to the event to tone down on the "creativity" coz I ain't looking forward to seeing something like this on the day...

Leandre

That Kelis inclusion is a message to you too Chomee, or Kelly Khumalo.

And Kelly babes, sisi, I love your voice but if you're gonna steal your mama's curtains again and wrap them around your body like you did at the Metro awards then please allow J-Lo to demonstrate how it's done. In Style!

Wrap Around

Sonia Mbele, love how they dress you in Generations, absolutely love it! The only thing I wanna say is that gal, we know you just got married but if you're gonna be at the event, leave the wedding dress at home.

Tswang Tswang

*sigh* Just wish someone had actually told Bey that looking like a bride on the red carpet does not tranlate to "JayZ will pop the question".

And if anyone's gonna wear a micro mini short whatever outfit, please just double check if *amadolo* look ok. There's a reason for mirrors y'all.

Charlize Black

And if you do check in the mirror and think your legs are way too thin or you don't like the way your knees look out in the cold then please, by all means, cover the ugly-ass things up.

Charli Mthaka

Ok, I didn't mean "cover them up with whatever horrific outfit you come across first" but do it in style dammit!

Charlize Dress

There you go!! That wasn't so difficult now, was it??
Now practice to look straight at the photographer coz these side shots are a bit too much.

Lesego Motsepe gal, please don't bring Letti Matabane to the superbowl. If you're invited, that is. Only those who bought the right size boobs are allowed to display them in this fashion.

Halle Cleav dress

However, if you insist on drawing our attention to that area then it's okay. Yet again, we'll let JLO demonstrate, How To Do It In Style!

Orange JLO

But like I said, you don't have to show cleavage to light up the carpet. If you're married to an alien like husband then you practice and practice till you get it right and J-Lo will attest to that.

Jlo Goddess

Now, can somebody please make me one of these two dresses so I can show Halle Berry how it should be done??

GothikaGoth

And as she's demonstrated above, if you get complimented on your dress, you can simply use it for inspiration on your next red or yellow carpet outfit. Just change the colour, the material and your hairstyle.

And if you're gonna put a weave on or something, make sure it looks nothing like Khethiwe's Apache Indian hairstyle. No, I ain't done with that mess!

Holler!!
