27th June 2007 came and South African waited for the new show that received much advertisement on Mzansi Fo sho - Real Goboza. Now help me out here - what is the proper spelling? Is it Goboza or Ghoboza?

I feel inclined to write this blog cos our darling Brown Shuga, a tvsa blog writer (Shuga's Blogiwood), is part of the show and we as South African's don't want her to be biased with regards to the show and neither would we want her to criticize and end up losing her job

We love Mzansi and it's programs especially the reality ones which are very much 'original'.

This blog allows us to challenge and discuss the TV program Real Goboza. We will be voicing our real opinions and saying what it is we think of the program.

Since Brown Shuga has brought us of the low down on the first show - http://www.tvsa.co.za/default.asp?blogname=shugasblogiwood&ArticleID=5166
let me not shine on any1's shine.

Views on the first episode.

There was a huge hype over RGB & I thought wow - I can't wait. Then yesterday came & I just could not believe the poor standard of the show. These are my thoughts:

1. WHY CAN'T SOUTH AFRICA BE ORIGINAL??????????????????????????
WE COPY EVERY SINGLE THING. THE APPRENTICE, THE CUT, SURVIVOR, IDOLS, FEAR FACTOR, need I say more? NOW THIS? ARE WE A PATHETIC NATION OR WHAT?

2. WHY ON EARTH WOULD A 'GOSSIP SHOW' TELL US OLD NEWS????????
THE WHOLE NEWS THING WAS SUNDAY'S NEWS & U DON'T EVEN EDIT OR ADD SPICE TO THEM. IT'S CALLED NEWS COS IT'S NEW!!!! That just sucked!!!

3. THE SHOW WAS PREDICTABLE.
IF I WAS PAID A RAND FOR EVERY PERSON WHO COULD HAVE GUESSED THAT KHANYI MBAU WAS GONNA BE ON THE 1ST SHOW - I'D BE RICHER THAN HER MANDLA!!!

4. THE PRESENTERS:
--> TREVOR NOAH - HE SHOWED SUM REALLY GR8 PRESENTING SKILLS. HE IS ON PAR. NOT TOO HEAVY ON THE AUDIENCE. PITY HE SAID SO LITTLE.

--> DINEO - SHE HAS A GR8 VOICE BUT NOT THE FACE FOR TV. DEFINITELY NOT THE FACE. SHE CAME ACROSS AS SUM1 WHO WAS TRYING TOO HARD TO IMPRESS & BE LIKED BY THE PUBLIC. SHE WAS JUST LICKING KHANYI'S OSS. MOST OF THE QUESTIONS WERE RHETORICAL - CUMON, SHE ASKED EVERYTHING THAT WAS ALREADY IN THE NEWSPAPERS. SHE COULD HAVE REALLY MADE IT FUN BY ASKING THINGS THAT KHANYI DIDN'T ALREADY HAVE AN ANSWER TO. SHE DOES NOT HAVE THE RIGHT ATTITUDE FOR THE JOB. SHE'S MORE SUITED FOR THE 19:30 NEWS ON SABC.

--> PENNY - WHY ON EARTH DID SHE HAVE TO HUMILIATE SA LIKE THAT? SHE DID THE WORST JOB BY FAR. FROM THE GREETING (CHRIS BROWN MUST HAVE THOUGHT IT WAS SUM FAN) TO THE QUESTIONS. FOR SOMEONE WHO HAS BEEN IN THE INDUSTRY FOR SO LONG - U R NOT IMPRESSIVE. U WILL BE RESPONSIBLE SHOULD YOUR CAREER TAKE THE DIVE AGAIN.

--> LELO(BROWN SHUGA) - ATLEAST U DON'T KNOW ME, SO I CAN KAK ON U & U WON'T GET ME (HA! HA! HA!). ON THE REAL - U HAVE THE FACE FOR TV. U DEFINITELY HAVE THE ATTITUDE WHICH DINEO LACKS A LOT. IT WAS CLEAR U ARE NEW TO TV, COS U KEPT ON MOVING AROUND AND WERE NERVOUS. AT TIMES YOU WERE NOT AUDIBLE BUT IT WAS NOT YOUR FAULT. YOUR QUESTIONS WERE GREAT - ESPECIALLY THE GUTS TO SAY U DON'T WATCH THE SHOW. RIGHT THERE U SHOWED THAT U WERE THERE 2 DO YOUR JOB & NOT LIKE DINEO WHO WANTS TO BE LIKED.

OVERALL - THE SHOW WAS AN INDUSTRY BOO-BOO. A JOKE TO BE PRECISE!
Then again, there is always room for improvement so, let us wait and see....

***OMG ***
I thought I would stop critising, but am I right or am I right when I say it was an industry BOO-BOO?

Remember this:
The first episode will feature a "tell-all" interview with Khanyisile Mbau and an exposé on Andile Ncube's new woman.

Now this statement was on newspapers, websites and all these blogs.

Did I miss something in the show, cos I don't remember seeing Andile Ncube's new woman? In fact the only thing said about Andile in the show was the comment passed by Mr Sizwe Dhlomo, about wearing pink & not wanting to end up being called 'happy' like Andile...

Well Now Real Goboza... please explain....
