Am i the only sista who thinks muvhango sux?!
Okay...so they offer a critique of patriarchy in the domestic space, the office space and the social world @ large but thats all they do thats worthy of praise!
Mamela...they give women good positions kwi-Family Business but as soon a male condidate is available u-my-sista is given the boot! Its sooo patronizing! No matter how educated or brilliant a woman is at what she does she is still shadowed by HE, she still has to bow to her man...or the Chief!
Hayi maan, I don't mean to sound like a frustrated Black Woman kodwa it sux that amakhosikazi are still rendered powerless. Nokuba she is given power in the domestic space, this emphasises her powerlessness in larger cirlces in life!
And don't you think its ridiculous how they always go to court for every little dispute within the family. It totally implies that the African has sense of law or order without Western notions of what is correct. I mean, the Vendas have a Chief, why can't he solve their problems together with his advisers.I am in no way against the courts. I just think Black people are capable of solving their own family drama civil-ly without invloving the formal courts of law - Western courts of law nokwenza!
And don't even get me started on that Palesa girl... two words... acting school!! And they should really do something about that new Agnes girl
What do you think?
