Here are some of the tv stars who have been alleged to have neglected their paternal responsibilities:
Mr Hlomala Dandala
You must be living in a cage if you don’t know about his kids whom he categorically denied to have fathered when querried by the media but apparently they have been formerly acknowledged as his offspring by his family.
Mr Bonginkosi Zola DLAMINI
I am not about to reiterate the numerous media reports ngalo guluva but all I can say is : whre there is smoke there most certainly must be some kinda fire. Although I strongly disaaprove of Garnett Maseko’s attention and money seeking antics which resulted in her ill-use of her poor baby to get what she wants, I am skeptical about Zola’s vague defence as to why he is ignoring his paternal responsibilities.
Mr Xolani Gwala.
Ironically on his show ASIKHULUME yesterday, Mr Gwala defended the stance taken by the media to expose the ill-behaviour of public figures (entertainers and politicians. Funny coz not so long ago he was sent to court on allegations that he hadn’t been paying up the meager R2,500 he was supposed to, to his kid by an ex-girlfriend known only as Unathi. When he was asked by a True Love columnist (or journalist) on father’s day what fatherhood meant to him he said:
‘This whole thing is confusing to me, I don’t think I’m having anymore kids” . And when asked about marriage he said:
" I may, if I find the right woman". This is while he was (and still is) cohabiting with his fellow newsreader lover Zodwa Nogilana with whom he shares another child.
Somizi Mhlongo
He is the only one who seems to be completely innocent and to have been victrimised (in my informed opinion). He met a fan in the nineties and slept with her ( they had a one night stand according to him) and produced a very cute little picadill whom the mother tossed at Somizi so sha can persue her own acting carrer. After nine years of caring for his tot the mothe discovered that Somizi has a quite well rounded bank account and she too her child to squeeze money out of him. Even though he still pays for her schooling as well as for her clothes and gives R3000 a month, she wants so much more. Kanti yena uzode enze ntoni na?
