Let Death Do US Part, not
I was motivated to write this article by the sad loss that SA’s has just suffered. I felt the need to do so because I know we haven’t recovered from grieving for Lebo Mathosa, Brenda Fassie, Jabu Khanyile, Tebza, Makhendlas Mafokate, TK Mhinga and many more, and just those wounds were opened up again by the passing on of Gift Mpho Vum Vum Leremi. . BS has mentioned that weird feeling that when someone famous passes on we feel as though we have lost a family member. To me the reason is bcoz. They, make this place a place to be. they are the role models and yet entertainers at the same time. Every celeb in South Africa has a family out there that he/ she don’t know exist. In them we found role models, heroes, entertainers, brothers, sisters and most of all representatives. They have liberated us from the chains of being supporters of other countries talents. With their skills they you give us one thing that we understand, can relate to and enjoy. Nothing can compare to that.
We also admire the courage that they as human beings have, because like other human beings they are exposed to the world that is dominated by poverty, drugs and crime but they still rise above that and make us proud. I can safely say that South Africa loves them, and yes they are humans and they are entitled to make mistakes in this journey of life. I can proudly say that these guys play a major role in decreasing poverty and unemployment in South Africa, because now not everybody depends on the government for employment.
Imagine a country without sport/music, what would we be, how would we be able to express ourselves. They are like relatives to us, we watch them as they enter this industry, cross fingers at their first appearances, watch them grow, see their ups and downs, rejoice with them when they succeed and sadly cry with their family when they pass away.
The purpose of this article is to let them know that all of them are appreciated out there. Their presence is highly felt by all South Africans. Their talent, determination and courage . Nothing makes me to be a proudly South African more than the people of my country. Most of them come from disadvantaged backgrounds like most of us but they have broken the chains and are making us proud. They motivate us into becoming the best that we could be. They show us that nothing is impossible if you believe, age, colour, or background does not matter.
To all the entertainers that have passed on I would love to say these words;
You were angels and ultimately angels go to heaven, the mark you have made to this country will not fade away, in fact will be used as the leading direction to this country's destiny. You were family to us even though we never met most of you. Some of us are still grieving with your families even though they don’t know we exist. But you must know that the roles you played in this country's education & entertainment built an everlasting love that is why you will never be forgotten.
To all the those that are still alive, may the Lord bless you and give you strength, to never give up, because South Africa is looking up to you. We are not just the fans. We are people that love you and try our best to support you. Be proud now because you are appreciated.
So what do you bloggers think, do you also have the same bond with our entertainers?
Do you take them seriously or think they are just paper bags?
Tell me if you think I am weird or unreal, or maybe you share the same feelings as I do.
And please remember this “We understand death for the first time when he puts his hand upon one whom we love”
