Its feels good to be South African. Our people, languages, cultures are unique and something to be proud of. Infact, there's just something in the air that isn't like anywhere else in the world here. This is home.

We've come a long way now haven't we? Now, lets share, what defines the new South Africa? What  proudly and uniquely South African images, moments, jargon, and anything you can think of really are typically  "South African" for you?
Is it the sights and sound of traditional gum-boot dancers, or Stransky scoring that Drop-Goal....?
What sets us apart from the rest of the world?

Share your thoughts...

Nna bathong I am amzed but the beauty this country has in its women and hunks... damn mzansi has the most beautiful people.
Our music.... boys rap in zulu and call it kwaito and then aother boys rap in tswana and call it motswako...
Our celebrities, they can pull stunts a year later just to get publicity of their new albums which we wont buy. I mean they can even sue people for something that happened months ago, that even ne ba xhoma ka yona...!

Things I love about SA

1. The fact that the World's Most Favourite Man is born here......and that is none other than uTata uMandela *bow to him*....this Man has made Our Country what it is today....I am talking about liberation(with the help of other people offcourse)...and respect...to mention a few.

That is why today a lot of Celebrities feel like they have to contribute something in Our Country...remember the 46664 Concerts where International artists like Beyonce etc came to raise funds? Oprah as well with the school. That just says it all for me.

Nice one XC!

Good one XC.

Why I love South Africa:

1.Biltong

2.Braais

3.Winning the 1995 Rugby World Cup, it was a truly awesome moment seeing our President, Nelson Mandela wearing his rugby jersey and lifting that trophy next to Francois Pienaar, that day literally united this country like no other.

4.The beauty of this country, pity we don't appreciate it.

5. 11 official languages, the only country with a national anthem in 3 languages.

1. Country with such double standards.

SA win bid to host soccer world cup. people moan about crime and safety but when we host 20/20 cricket no one moans about crime and people support Francois Steyns Bid for 2011 Rugby world cup without mentioning crime.

2. Funerals are treated like parties and the more controversial the cause of death, the more people will attend the funeral.
3. You get anything from the four way stops and robots. You can even get sunglasses, cigarettes and magazine subscription for half the price.
4. Everyone is an avid sports fan come world cup and everyone is an expert in the sport.
5. At home affairs you get kak service in eleven official languages

Most of all no matter how bad things get everyone manages to score a bottle of booze and everyone is related.

South Africa is very unique. Back in the day your parents continue to embarrass you without shame. My aunt bought my cousin these takkies from Pep and they had this flashing light thing at the soles and front and made a squeaking sound with every step. My mother forced me to take my cousin every where I went. And my cousin had to switch the damn lights on every 5 seconds. He was about 5yrs old from the rural areas and I was a teen reaching puberty.
