Behind The Name:
Episode 5Broadcast date: 3 October 2007 at 20h00
In this week’s episode of Behind the Name, Nicky Greenwall profiles the life of TV personality and actor
Colin Moss.
Although he’s best known as a presenter (Idols, Fear Factor, CityLife) Colin first set out in the industry as an actor. His latest movie roles include The World Unseen, in which he plays an Apartheid era cop, and the comedy Big Fellas, in which he plays a “stoner” film maker. The World Unseen was released at the Toronto Film Festival in September 2007 and Big Fellas is scheduled for release in November 2007.
Colin started his career as a stand up comic. It was when he was living on fruit in the garden of his commune in Johannesburg that he started performing comedy - in order to make enough money for toothpaste, beer and petrol. Before long, his talent was recognised by producers and the rest is history.
Comedy is a lifelong passion and he continually goes back to his roots and regularly works the comedy circuit - locally and in the UK and Ireland. In addition to his acting and presenting jobs, he has a reputation in the comedy industry as a very dependable headline act.
