i know were embracing all the "talents" we got in south africa right now, but HAOWA! the safta nominations are way, i mean WAY to obscure for my liking. we all know that the head runner is Isidingo but they could've atleast have suprized us by nominating the - outdated, weak and very slow "soap"- Muvhango in atleast 10 categories. and pasting the winners list before the ceremony is a total interest deflator. C'mon s.a, im sure even Backstage doesnt miss being in the list!

Mara they can't nominate shows just for the sake of it, that would make the awards lose their worth. Personally, I think Isidingo is the best soapie, all their actors are good, the story line is believable, and its just fun to watch(most times), and so they deserve to lead nominations.
As for Muvhango, hai, that show is just not deserving of even one nomination...or maybe if the was a "most court cases in a soapie" award, then i'd understand.

lol renegade... its quite interesting how we(as the public) view certain aspects of a show. with me, Isidingo is good but its so overrated at times. the constant bikkering between the same people just aint worth the time to watch for me. i only watched coz of Mitchelle Botes.

Ja maybe isidingo is good but that does not mean it has to be nominated in every category.I think muvhango does not deserve any award because their storyline, actors and too much cast is so boring.Bondalamo with that accent of theirs don't make the soapie to b good.We will c this year who will scoop most awards.is either Generations or Isidingo. But those awards I think they must be cancelled for good cos they are discriminative..............and full of k**k

@sigo Ya, it is funny how we see these things differently, u know...like how I cant stand to watch City Sesla coz I think its not funny, and yet I saw they have quite a few nominations.

@lejazz. I see what you saying, but I still think with the options that are available in SA for nominees, its only natural that Isidingo will come up so many times. I've actaully forgotten how many times they were nominated or what they were nominated for, but I remember I was fine with it when I first saw the nomination.
On the whole though, although Isidingo has moments when I think it's too much, I think all the soapies have that, the difference is that Isidingo writers quickly come back to reality, and fix up their mess.

Also, I like how they try to keep current, i remember when they did a scene of Len and Calvin talking about the Twenty20 world cup and the rugby world cup, that scene had nothing to do with the story line, but it just made me realise the effort they put in to stay current.

But I don't understand what u mean when you say the awards are discriminateve, who do they discriminate against?
