Ricardo interrogates the crematorium attendant, asking why he didn't check the casket first, but Paula persuades Ricardo to back off and let the man go home. He later tenders his resignation feeling he let the job get in the way of helping Annie, and blames himself for her death. Paula visits him at home and tells him she'll always love him even though they can't be together, and he shouldn't blame himself for doing his job. A sullen Ben returns home with Meg, but in her efforts to help, she makes things worse and Ben tells her to leave. Vanessa hides from Michael at the Medical Centre explaining to Rae how he must be in with JoJo. Meanwhile, Michael continues to look for Vanessa and inadvertently hands JoJo Vanessa's file, which contains everything about him. He takes the file and meets up with a business partner, assuring him Vanessa is off the trail. The partner is none other than Gregory Richards. Ben tells Bette Annie's dead, but Bette can't believe her ears. She breaks down proclaiming her love for her niece. After speaking to Mark about Ben's dead wife Maria, Meg returns to Ben's just in time to see him walking into the ocean. Meg rushes to stop him, where he grabs her, looks into her eyes and they almost kiss, but then he walks back out of the ocean.
2 November
Olivia worries about Sean's state of mind considering the article about Annie's death, and Gregory worries Sean will tell the police about Olivia at the hotel. After seeing the article, Sean starts trashing The Java Web, but Mark wrestles him to the floor. Tiffany breaks things up and Sean runs off. Casey sees Michael hugging Rae and jumps to the wrong conclusion. He confronts Rae about her feelings for him, and tells her she's won - it's over. Michael finds Vanessa at the Medical Centre and is shocked Vanessa thinks JoJo is Jaleen's father. He's angered she thinks he's betrayed her and leaves to find answers. Sean confesses to Eddie at SBPD, and Eddie tells Gregory the news, but with Ricardo off the case, Eddie says he needs to follow it up. Gregory reminds Eddie who he works for and how difficult he can make things. Sean confesses to Tiffany that he saw his mother the night of the shooting. She tells Spike Olivia's going to be their meal ticket. Gregory prepares a drink for Olivia elated they're going to bury Annie. A mysterious woman appears at The Deep - venue of Annie's memorial service. As Meg looks at the painting of Maria Ben tells her he killed her too...
5 November
Meg tells Ben he's not responsible for anyone's death, but Ben says she doesn't know him and asks her to leave. She replies that somehow she does know him. Caitlin arranges to meet Cole at The Java Web, but Gregory tells her they're going to Annie's memorial as a family. At the memorial service, Annie reveals herself to be very much alive and hides in Ben's office before the guests arrive. Caitlin slips off to meet with Cole who's looking at an article about the Deschanel jewels. Olivia asks Ricardo whether she can have Del's personal affects, but Ricardo indicates there's nothing of real value there. She asks Bette where the Deschanel jewels are. Ricardo visits Ben and tells him he's quit the force and he's going to find out who really killed Del - with or without Ben's help. Annie watches her memorial as Meg offers to speak on Ben's behalf, but Ben arrives saying he can speak for himself. He delivers a moving eulogy, which touches Annie. Gregory receives a fax from Interpol - Cole St John is a wanted man! He demands Caitlin stays away from Cole. Annie watches Ben on the pier. Meg appears and after an exchange of words, Meg walks away, but Ben calls her back then they walk off together.
6 November
Annie watches Ben and Meg on his balcony and warns that if she touches him she's dead. Ricardo has a vivid dream about Paula and Elaine with a gun. He startles awake and looks down at the Del Douglas murder tree he's been writing. He offers Elaine flowers as a token of peace, but she refuses to help win Paula back. He later asks Paula to marry him. Caitlin carries out Cole's treasure hunt. Meanwhile, Gregory's private investigator reveals Cole St John is an international jewel thief with a string of jilted lovers, but warns there's no official evidence against St John. Gregory invites Cole into his limousine, demanding he breaks it off with Caitlin so that she'll hate Cole forever. He reluctantly agrees and meets Caitlin at their grotto, which he has decorated with candles for Valentine's Day. Cole tries to break things off, but can't resist Caitlin and they kiss. Ben ponders how Meg's got into his head so quickly and continues to mourn Annie until she appears behind him. He looks at her for a few seconds and then angrily asks where the hell she's been. Meg assures Mark Ben isn't going to top himself and Mark realises how close they've become. He lets slip Ben is 'SB'. Meg rushes to Ben's to tell him she's 'Dorothy', but is gutted when a woman gets out of Ben's shower.
7 November
Ben follows Meg downstairs, thinking she's just seen Annie, but is surprised when Meg accuses him of receiving comfort from a stranger. Realising she doesn't know about Annie, he accepts her accusations. After Meg leaves, Annie comes onto Ben who doesn't refuse her advances. Gregory offers Tim a pay rise in return for spying on his children. Cole attempts to break-up with Caitlin, but she sees through it, realising he loves her as much as she loves him. Ricardo throws Eddie out after he interrupts them. Ricardo persuades Paula just how much he wants to be with her and she finally says yes. Gregory visits Ben to talk about Annie, but Ben warns he won't stop investigating. As Ben tells Gregory to leave, he spots Annie's robe and accuses Ben of getting over Annie a little too easily. Ben returns upstairs to Annie telling her she can't stay there anymore. The Valentine's Ball is underway at The Deep and Eddie - dressed as John Travolta in Saturday Night Fever - starts chatting up a woman dressed as Cleopatra. His attention is diverted when Paula arrives as a flamenco dancer, and then Ricardo appears as Zorro. He warns Eddie to back off, informing him he and Paula are back together. Eddie is clearly hurt as, at Ricardo's loft, he later watches Ricardo and Paula making love.
12 November
Casey arrives at the Valentine's Ball as Red Butler from 'Gone With the Wind' where a Marilyn Monroe wannabe comes onto him. He plays along with her in order to try to make Rae jealous. Cole tells Caitlin it isn't a good idea they remain together. She goes home where Gregory is waiting up for her, but she's surprised when he doesn't give her any grief. Gregory calls his PI - Will Barnes - and tells him they need to work harder on St John. Elaine finds Cole in the grotto and tells him he's Armando Deschanel's grandson, which he denies. Meg tells Tim she's over men then bumps into Ben, spilling a tray of glasses over him. Mark asks Ben whether he's okay with what Meg told him, but Ben is clueless and Mark realises he's put his foot in it again. He sees Tiffany arrive with Sean (dressed as Bonnie and Clyde) and becomes jealous again. Ben demands to know why Meg's told Mark about the woman in his bedroom, but Meg replies she wouldn't do that. She hints he should know her better than that, and Ben agrees - somehow he does. She's about to tell him she's 'Dorothy' when Ben spots Annie dressed as a belly dancer. He panics, grabs her arm and escorts her home. After a lonely night at The Deep, Tim returns to his hotel room where he looks at old slides of him and Meg, and promises he'll get Meg back.
13 November
Vanessa tells Rae Jaleen's been kidnapped. Michael and Casey are surprised when Jaleen enters the lifeguard station. At Grenadines, Ricardo and Paula tell Elaine they're getting married. The Richards arrive for lunch, but Olivia rushes off with Bette, leaving Sean, Tiffany and Gregory to greet Caitlin and Cole. The pleasantries are short-lived when a young woman, introduced as Elsa, appears to know Cole. She explains how her younger sister committed suicide after being jilted by a man who stole her heart and the family jewels. Gregory is decidedly smug throughout the whole thing, especially when Caitlin comments how the culprit should be made to pay. Cole confronts Gregory about why he doesn't tell Caitlin about his background, but Gregory explains he doesn't want her to hate him. Michael returns to Surf Central with Jaleen and Vanessa thinks it's a trap, but Casey assures her it isn't. Michael talks to JoJo's wife, LaShawnda, still unable to believe his childhood friend is bad, but explains how he's arranged a meeting. He meets JoJo who explains things have changed and hints Michael hasn't looked back since leaving South Central because of something he did. Vanessa finally accepts Michael's a good guy and is relieved to see him return in one piece. Bette and Olivia investigate Annie's search of the Deschanel jewels, but they're nowhere to be found. Bette wonders whether a crooked cop has picked them up from the crime scene, and indeed Eddie has the jewels.
14 November
Meg contacts 'SB' over the Internet to explain who she is, but Annie replies pretending to be Ben, tells her Ben's known who she is all along and that Annie was the love of his life. Ben appears from the back of the Java Web, and Mark, seeing Meg so upset, tells her she isn't talking to Ben. Eddie has a piece of the Deschanel jewels appraised at the jewellers, and bumps into Paula who questions where he got it from. Eddie leaves abruptly, but returns later to find Paula asking the jeweller questions and writing notes. Eddie becomes frantic and returns to his darkroom. He ponders why Paula keeps asking questions, wonders if she's onto him, then takes out a long length of cord and leaves. Ricardo becomes overwhelmed by all the wedding preparation and tells Paula he can't do it then suggests they elope together. Mark asks Ben whether Meg has spoken to him and tells him she's gone to his place. Ben leaves in a hurry. Meg lets herself into Ben's as Annie dances to the kitchen with headphones on. Meg goes upstairs and returns to find Annie lying on the sofa - alive! Meg is shocked but pleased, until she realises Annie was pretending to be Ben. Annie explains how she was trying to let her down gently because Ben's been playing along with Annie's death all along. Meg is upset that Ben felt he couldn't trust her. She opens the front door where Ben stands staring at her and Annie.
15 November
Paula asks Ricardo when he wants them to elope and he excitedly tells her ASAP. He decides on two hours to give Paula time to get ready. Eddie arrives at an abandoned factory then waits for Paula to leave Ricardo's before breaking-in and hiding in a cupboard. Cole (now played by Eddie Cibrian) tells Caitlin he has a serious partner in London that their time together has been fun, but now it's over. A devastated Caitlin runs home to Gregory who comforts her as best he can, but she exclaims she loves Cole and leaves. Gregory calls Tim and asks him to follow her. Olivia is sickened by Gregory's actions, grabs a bottle of champagne and wishes she could disappear. Annie confesses to Meg that Ben didn't really know she was alive, but Meg wants to know if he thinks Annie is the love of his life. He tells her Annie is his friend as is Meg, but Meg's not happy with that. Annie convinces Meg not to tell Ben about being 'Dorothy' for fear it will send him back into a deep emotional depression. Meg agrees saying she'll win Ben by physical contact with him. Annie starts having strange flashbacks in which her hands are covered in blood. Tim comforts Caitlin in the grotto, whilst, in another part of the grotto, Olivia drowns her sorrows unaware Cole is behind her. Eddie hides in wait for Paula whilst Ricardo chats to 'Cleopatra' at The Deep who asks whether he can see himself making love to only one woman for the rest of his life. Meanwhile, Eddie knocks Paula out with a chloroform laced cloth.
19 November
Gregory spies on Ben at The Deep and asks Meg how she's broken through his brooding image so soon after Annie's death. He presumes the robe he'd seen at Ben's the other night is hers or another woman's. Meg confesses it was hers and when Ben appears behind her she kisses him passionately. Gregory applauds their performance and leaves. Meg explains the performance to Ben who says they should keep up the pretence in Gregory's company. Ricardo walks Gabi ('Cleopatra' from The Deep) to the Seabreeze Motel where he calls home, but Paula doesn't answer: she's blindfolded and trussed up in Eddie's factory room. Gabi slinks on the bed and tells Ricardo it's obvious she's jilted him, then starts coming onto him. Ricardo eventually pushes her away and returns home, but Paula's not there. Caitlin asks Tim to make love to her, but when he refuses she asks whether it's because she's still a virgin. They kiss, but Caitlin says she can't do it. Cole takes Olivia to a hotel room after she says she can't go home. He notices her necklace is part of the Deschanel jewels and succumbs to her desires. Ricardo looks for Paula at The Deep where he grabs Eddie demanding to know if he's seen Paula. Eddie tells him she hopes she's left him then leaves himself. Ricardo returns home to an answer phone message: Paula needs time and has gone away for a few days. Ricardo is devastated. At the factory, Eddie points a gun at Paula tied to the bed and fires.
20 November
Cole steals Olivia's necklace whilst she sleeps and later calls a jeweller who assures him it is worth something. The jeweller also tells him a customer had a similar piece earlier, which he'll try and persuade the customer to sell. Cole meets Caitlin at the Waffle Shop where she tells him Sunset Beach is a small town she was there first so get out of town. Olivia arrives as Caitlin enters the shop and there's an awkward silence as Elaine appears behind Cole. Gregory visits Ben as Meg and Annie are sorting out their differences. Annie hides as Gregory invites himself in wanting to speak with Ben. Meg and Ben continue their pretence as Gregory warns Ben to back off the investigation into his family. Gregory offers Tim a further extension to his job - keep an eye on Olivia - and offers Tim a $100 bill to think about it. Paula is still alive tied to the bed and is startled when her kidnapper kisses her. She asks whether that's what he's after and plays up to him. Ricardo demands Elaine tells him where Paula is, but Elaine is just as worried. He returns home, unaware Eddie is behind the door with a gun (he's been looking for Paula's notebook convinced she knows he stole the jewels), but the phone rings allowing Eddie to escape. Ricardo finds Paula's broken necklace and replays the answer phone message: is that a train in the background?
21 November

Michael later tells Casey he's booked a few days off work, and advises him to go after Rae if he wants her because life's too short. Casey's concerned for his friend, thinking he's leaving town since he gave him next month's rent in advance. Casey takes his advice and kisses Rae then leaves it up to her to make a decision. Michael kisses Vanessa indicating there'll be no date. He returns to his apartment where JoJo is waiting for him. He sees Michael's trying to skip town so pulls a gun. Ricardo visits the train station and discovers the answer phone message is a phoney. He goes to SBPD and asks Chief Harris for his badge back then tells her he thinks Paula's been kidnapped, but Harris doubts it. Ricardo returns home to a package with videotape inside - a video of Paula being held hostage. SBPD start investigating into Paula's disappearance and Eddie latches onto Ricardo who shows Eddie the tape. Eddie suggests a disgruntled criminal from the past might be responsible, and Ricardo suggests checking Paula's notebook. Eddie finds the book, but Ricardo grabs it off him and Eddie prepares to pull his gun. There's nothing but wedding plans in it and Eddie realises he's made a mistake. Ricardo tells Elaine her daughter has been kidnapped whilst Eddie returns to the factory, pondering what to do next.
22 November
A mysterious stranger arrives at Paula's bedside and takes off her blindfold - he appears to know her. Ricardo and Eddie continue to trawl through a list of possible suspects, but to no avail. Eddie returns to the factory where he sees the stranger on the video monitor. He welcomes the guy as Ralph. JoJo arranges a meeting with Vanessa at a shipping company. She meets with him, unaware Michael is JoJo's hostage until Michael screams for her to run. JoJo knocks him out with his gun and stalks Vanessa who tries to make a run for it. As JoJo is about to shoot her, Michael knocks him down, wrestling the gun from his hand. Michael and Vanessa escape and Will Barnes - Gregory's investigator - takes care of JoJo by shipping him off to Mexico. Meg and Ben attend the Richards cocktail party in an attempt to break Gregory's alibi with the congressman and his wife: both flirt with the respective parties and appear to get what they need. Cole looks for the Deschanel jewels in Olivia's bedroom, but is caught by Olivia. Annie continues to have bloody visions of the night her father was shot: was she there? Ricardo discovers Paula's kidnapper could be Ralph Myers who's recently skipped parole. At the factory, Paula slips out of her handcuffs, realises she's being surveyed, but picks the door lock anyway. Thinking she's finally safe, Paula runs into Ralph Myers who seems happy to see her.
26 November
While Ricardo awaits the grid detailing the possible location of Ralph Myers, he discovers Myers' m.o. is to tattoo his victims with a heart and teardrop - a ritual due to the death of his mother in childbirth. Myers is also known as a serial rapist with connections but no convictions for rape and murder. Paula looks at the tattooing equipment in trepidation as Myers looks on at her. Eddie plans the ambush on Myers, telling himself he'll lead the assault and shoot Myers before he has a chance to implicate him, and so be lavished with Paula's praise. Olivia assumes Cole is in her bedroom to continue their rendezvous and they sleep together. She asks whether he's stolen her necklace, knowing he's looking for the Deschanel jewels. Cole can't get Caitlin out of his head as he makes love to Olivia, but as they're lying together there's a knock at the bedroom door: Caitlin's outside. Casey brings a lost property box home and asks Meg to help herself. She finds a black coat stained with blood, calls the police, but there's a receipt addressed to Annie Douglas inside one of the pockets. Annie confesses to Ben she was at Del's hotel room the night he was shot, but doesn't remember shooting him. Ben thinks Annie's desire to kill her father are transpiring as nightmares until Meg arrives at Ben's with the coat and demands she tells the truth. The grid arrives and Eddie and Ricardo storm the factory. Ricardo is devastated when the place turns out to be empty.
27 November
Eddie looks frantic as Ricardo gives up. He tells Ricardo this must be the place, so they start searching more thoroughly. Ricardo sees the camera, concludes it must've been where the tape came from, but Eddie reassures him Paula probably wasn't being tortured just watched. They find the bed and Eddie sees handcuffs still attached, but Ricardo is faster - they're police issue cuffs. He asks Eddie to run a trace. Paula lies in Myers' lap unconscious: a tattoo heart and teardrop visible above her left breast. Olivia asks Caitlin to wait whilst Cole makes an exit. She sees a pair of man's shoes and guesses her mother has been having an affair. After Caitlin comes downstairs upset, Gregory goes upstairs and accuses Olivia of having an affair. He threatens to send her to rehab unless she sorts herself out. Annie believes she must have killed her father, but Ben is convinced she didn't even though she remembers being in the hotel room. Bette knocks frantically at Ben's, still devastated by Annie's death. She tells Ben and Meg how much she loves Annie and what she'd do to see her again, then screams as Annie comes into view. She can't believe she's alive, but Ben insists it needs to stay a secret. Annie says she's sick of hiding, so Bette asks to talk to Annie alone and she confesses she's doing it to impress Ben. Tim listens from the bushes but can't hear as Ben tells Meg she can't be involved anymore. Meg insists she's in it to the end. Eddie tells Ricardo Myers' m.o. of leaving lilies on his victim's bodies. Myers looks over Paula who's lying in a wedding dress: lily attached.
28 November
Two FBI agents meet Ricardo at his loft whilst Eddie takes a call outside: it's Myers. He implies he's going to let everyone know Eddie's part in Paula's abduction and suggests she already knows. Eddie asks where he's taken her, but Myers doesn't reply. Ricardo asks Eddie who the call was from and when Eddie lies Ricardo becomes suspicious, but Agent Morton interrupts and accuses Ricardo of being involved in the abduction due to their volatile relationship. Incensed with rage, Ricardo throws them out as Elaine enters. Tiffany discovers the Day Care centre is being pulled down and Sean offers she move in with him, but when she arrives at the Richards she's disappointed she'll be living in the maid's quarters. Mark makes matters worse telling her she'll never move into the mansion. Myers prepares his wedding to Paula, and when he's out of the room she throws her ring through a partially broken window. Paula tells Myers she's not going to beg for mercy like his other victims and so knocks her out with chloroform then ties her to a fence. An upset Tiffany, out with her dog Spike, comes across a psychedelically decorated camper van with 'Just Married' on the back. Spike barks ferociously at the man attaching the sign, who turns out to be Myers, and Tiffany watches him drive away. Spike's barking wakes Paula who's gagged and tied-up surrounded by candles. She tries shouting for help. Spike finds Paula's wedding ring outside a bright, graffiti-ridden building and Tiffany pockets it.
29 November
