Is Kenny still the big bad wolf?A few weeks ago we all felt sorry for Kenny when he his wife Dineo, in a desparate attempt to bring her husband down, gave him poisonous wine to drink. After puking his guts out the whole night, Kenny turned into this sweet guy who was very impressed with his wife’s compassionate nature when she so willingly took care of him.
Unknown to him, it was pure guilt on Dinny’s part and she soon buried the evidence in the garden, till this day Kenny has no idea that he faced death and has rather rewarded Dineo for finally showing him her true caring self. No more driving her to work and ill treating her, things are just honky dory now between Mr and Mrs Mashaba.
We also found out the real reason or rather Kenneth’s version of why he and his brother Paul are estranged. He told Grace that her dad was caught in bed with Kenny’s first wife and that’s the reason why they are not on speaking terms to this day.
Grace immediately believed her uncle and when she spoke to her dad on the phone she told him, she knew everything and that she could never forgive him for what he did to her mum. She never did tell her dad what uncle Kenneth told her but she made it very clear that she wanted nothing to do with him anymore, he was basically dead to her.
Meanwhile Grace has been having conversations with her mum and we soon find out when Grace confides in Dineo that her mom Rachel is manic depressive and has been in an institution for many years.
When Dineo speaks to Kenny about Rachel, Kenny is quick to point out that Rachel has always been a weak woman but the look on his face tells a different story.
While the Mashabas were having dinner, prepared by Dineo, the doorbell rang and Grace quickly went to answer. It was none other than Paul Mashaba, a hot looking Paul might I add, didn’t expect him to be so young (wasn’t this guy in Scandal)?
Grace was shocked that her dad even dared show his face there, she told him in no uncertain terms that she wanted nothing to do with him, it’s because of him that her mother has been institutionalized, blah blah blah, her dad couldn’t believe what was coming out of his daughter’s mouth and blamed Kenneth for brainwashing her.
He soon made his way to the dining area and right then and there the two brothers finally came face to face. Paul couldn’t contain himself and immediately lashed out at Kenny even puching him in the face.
When Dineo realized that this was the Paul Mashaba, she was shocked probably thinking she married the wrong Mashaba.
Kenny was quick to call Ace to get rid of the rubbish and Paul begged Grace to go with him but she refused, he told her that he loved her and that one day she will find out how sneaky her uncle really is.
The next day Grace asked her uncle why her father seemed not to know anything about what he had done, Kenny looked worried but quicly gave a story about Paul always being like that, detaching himself emotionally from a situation.
With Samuel’s help, Paul booked in at Sqalo Court just for the week, hopefully he will stick around for much longer and give Kenny a taste of his own medicine.
The question is, is Kenny still the big bad wolf pretending to be the innocent brother when in fact he is the one who slept with Paul’s wife causing her to become depressed because of her guilt. Knowing Kenneth, I’ll put nothing past him.
Ajax - paralysed by fearGrace and Ajax were getting along very well and for a moment we thought their friendship could actually develop into something more until Ajax in his drunken state phoned Grace late at night, waking the poor girl only to tell her how he really feels.
Off course Grace was upset, what girl wouldn’t be, this is not the way we want men to tell us how they feel about us, late at night and drunk on top of it, so she told him off making the poor dude give up completely on ever having something serious with her.
The next day it was Ajax's last day in Jozi before going on his nationwide tour. He apologised to Grace for calling her late at night and she became that ice cold bitchy Grace again when she called him out on his immature behaviour. That evening Ajax went alone to the studio to do last minute rehearsals before the upcoming tour, we never actually saw what happened afterwards, just Zamani getting that dreaded late night phone call.
Next we heard that Ajax had been in a horrific motorcycle accident leaving him all battered and bruised with broken ribs, pelvis and a couple of bones. Zamani was beside himself with worry but he stood by Ajax and supported him through everything.
Soon news of Ajax’s accident spread and Kenneth took it upon himself to pay all the boy’s medical expenses since Zamani had no health insurance. Off course Kenny made sure the world knew of his good deeds by means of an interview he did.
When Dr Braydan did some tests on Ajax he discovered that Ajax had no feeling in his legs, he was very concerned and told Zamani that Ajax’s pelvis needed to heal completely before they were able to tell if he was going to be permanently paralysed or not. Ajax basically has a 50 percent chance of walking but he could only tell after about a month while the boy is recovering.
Ajax was bitter about what had happened to him, he was full of self-pity and no matter how everyone tried to cheer him, he was just miserable to be around. Eventually he came around, Grace kept visiting him even though he didn’t want to see her and was generally nasty towards her but she kept going back to visit him.
Just as it seemed that Ajax was back to his old self, laughing and joking around with Zamani and Samuel who often came to visit him in hospital, he finally found out the truth about his health and the fact that he may never walk again when the guys were speaking about him when they thought he was sleeping.
Naturally Ajax was livid, he wanted nothing to do with his physiotherapy or counseling and was very angry and bitter again. Dr Braydan explained to him that he was the one who told Zamani to give his brother hope, it’s the only way he can fully recover by focusing on the positive rather than the negative.
I’m just hoping that they don’t drag out this thing too long, it’s enough we had to put up with Siphiwe when he became blind, hopefully they’re not going the same route with Ajax making him unable to walk again.
The curse of being Karabo MorokaPoor little rich girl, Karabo Moroko, the tragic heroine of Generations can’t seem to ever find happiness. Is she really cursed? If she’s not losing the men in her life, she’s losing the children in her life.
As you know, Karabo was on the brink of adopting little Sizwe whom she met at a children’s shelter, she immediately fell inlove with the little boy and made an application to adopt him. Unfortunately for Karabs, she got a horrible social worker who was hell bent on making sure that she puts Karabo in a bad light. It was clear that Denise Miller didn’t particularly like Karabo and she was going to make damn sure Karabo’s wish to adopt Sizwe would not materialiaze.
Off course it came as no surprise when Denise smugly told Karabo that her application to adopt the boy was turned down by the board, all based on Denise’s report off course. Karabo was devastated, luckily she found comfort and support in the form of Anne De Villiers.
One evening when they were having a business meeting at Tsalanang, Denise Miller walked in and Karabo was unable to bare it any longer. She went to her and angrily confronted Denise for having something against her and purposely denying her the opportunity to become a mom.
The normally cool Denise could ‘t hold back any longer and gave it right back to Karabo, telling her she thought because of her riches she can get anything she wants, well not this time. It was clear Denise had made the whole process a personal thing against rich people because she was born poor. A mysterious dark haired woman was watching the ugly scene and seemed very intrigued by it all.
Anne advised Karabo to take the matter further, to appeal the decision and to lay a complaint against Denise but Karabo wasn’t up for another fight. She calmed down and practically begged Denise to allow her to say goodbye to Sizwe, Denise refused to allow this.
Eventually Denise thought about it and let Karabo see Sizwe for one last time. It was a very emotional scene as Karabo said goodbye to the boy as he cried “I want my mummy, I want my mummy”. The poor kid didn’t understand what was going on.
Sibusiso and Phakeme finally make peaceAfter the disastrous fishing trip that Ntombi had planned for Sibusiso and her dad, things came to a head when the men actually made peace. It happened while they were at the lodge and now the men have finally made peace and have actually come to respect one another.
Sibusiso had instructed Busi to return immediately from the UK so that she could represent him at the
umembeso. The ceremony finally took place between the two families and the lobolo was handed over, everything was going smoothly between the Dlomos and the Khumalos.
The only thing to happen now is for the wedding to take place but Ntombi feels she wants to first have the baby and then get married since she doesn’t want to look like a balloon on her wedding day.
Now Sibusiso and Ntombi have hit another snag in their relationship, it came in the form of Ntombi’s work.
Baby Bartering?Kenneth has given Ntombi the scoop of a lifetime, knowing she was an investigative journalist and also knowing what a rush it can be, he thought Ntombi would be perfect for his latest assignment. Naturally she jumped at the chance.
The assignment has to do with the illegal selling of babies on the black market and Ntombi was all prepared to blow the operation wide open. The only problem is that she’s pregnant and Sibusiso wanted her to back off. The two constantly argued about the issue of Ntombi wanting to chase a story when she should be taking things easy, it doesn’t help when Sibusiso finds out how dangerous the assignment really is, he tried to get Kenneth to take Ntombi off the assignment, but we know Kenny, he basically told Sibusiso that Ntombi is just an employee to him, nothing more.
Now it seems that Ntombi will be going to Cape Town in search of contacts since Sharon told her she’ll get more information in Cape Town. The face of the woman known only as Sally Smith was faxed through to Ntombi, apparently she was the woman who was very much a part of this sordid operation.
Sibusiso was not a happy man when Ntombi told him of her intentions to go to Cape Town to follow a few leads, according to him, his pregnant wife-to-be was thinking of nobody but herself and he was seriously pissed off with her.
Meanwhile the mysterious woman who witnessed the ugly scene between Karabo and Denise in Tsalanang, was keen to get in contact with Karabs. It became clear this woman was up to no good and she was in the business of selling babies, Karabo was a juicy target, she had all the right elements to become their next customer, she was rich, desperate to have a baby and was turned down by the law, a prime candidate if ever I saw one.
She phoned Ezweni but Karabo didn’t want to speak to anyone, the forceful woman then made her way to the offices and landed up in Karabo’s office. We never did the see the actual conversation but judging by Karabo’s reaction, she was totally disgusted and put the woman out, naturally the lady left her business card, just in case.
Karabo didn’t seem interested but she never got rid of the card, she kept looking at the picture she drew of Sizwe and in anger she had torn it up but now wanted to put the pieces back together thereby renewing her hope that she might be successful in becoming a mother.
She took Ann’s advice and is now in the process of lodging a formal complaint against Denise and the unfair decision taken against her adopting Sizwe.
Meanwhile, the buying of a baby has stuck in Karabo’s mind if her asking questions about it, is anything to go by. She went to visit Khehtiwe and Khapela and broached the topic but they told her in no uncertain terms that it was immoral and unfair to the child. Khapela was worried about Karabs and later visited her again to make sure she wasn’t planning to buy a baby, she assured him she wasn’t, mmmmh!
Another baby story has come to light and it came in the form of a very shy, young pregnant girl living near/at Sqalo Court. She didn’t have much money for bread and milk and Khetiwe, ever the kind hearted one, told her she need not pay. The girl later came back to thank Khetiwe and gave her flowers, the very same flowers which Khapela had planted and was furious at someone digging them up.
The question is, how will all this baby storylines tie in with each other? There’s potential for a juicy storyline here with Karabs desperate to be a mother and Ntombi equally desperate to expose the undercover baby operation. Then there’s a shy very pregnant teenager who can’t afford to feed herself let alone a baby? Don’t’ screw this one up Gen writers.
Anne, the wicked witch is back with a vengeanceAnne and Busi have been at each other’s throats since Busi returned from the UK and found Anne living at the penthouse, the two have literally argued every single time they’ve been in each other’s company be it at work or at home, over Karabo or everything else. Basically, I’m getting tired of Anne’s screeching voice and screwed up face and Busi’s pathetic attempts at being cool, calm and collected.
Anne is desparate to find something to use against Busi and while snooping around in Busi’s things, she came across a very interesting book where a particular drug was highlighted – Potassium Chloride, yes guys the very same drug which killed Jack Mabaso. Anne was on a mission.
Off course it helped when Anne found out through Samuel that Busi was also very keen to know more about potassium chloride and Anne’s sneaky mind was working overtime when she heard it was the very thing that killed Jack.
She got her “friend” Dr Mark Braydan, against his wishes, to draw the file of Jack Mabaso. Mark couldn’t get out of it, not with Anne blackmailing him about his previous involvement with Dudu Kunene, she threatened to report him to the medical board if he doesn’t comply and poor Mark was forced to get the file for Anne.
Anne now has the file on Jack and she’s determined to expose Busi if she was the one involved in murdering him, knowing Anne it probably doesn’t matter if Busi is innocent or not, she’s hellbent on getting rid of Busi for good if her JR smile is anything to go by.
Will she succeed?
Tune in for all this and more!GenerationsSABC 1Mondays – Fridays20:00
