Felicity's 'Drunk Driving' Nightmare

It’s been awhile since I brought you the 7de Laan Daily Dramas and this article is quite long, more than two months worth of re-capping. With the assistance of fellow TVSA member and Admin guy, Citanul, I hope you will enjoy catching up with the dramas in the Laan.

Felicity’s Accident

It all started with Felicity, as usual having lots of work to do and working late at night with a big glass of wine sort of gave her that extra boost to get through all her dreaded paperwork. So as she left to go home, we saw her cellphone being left behind and we knew something was up, we just didn’t know what.

A few minutes later, Felicity came running to the girls’ flat looking terrified knocking on the door but nobody was home, Hilda and Oom Oubaas heard the frantic knocking and came out to investigate. Felicity was in a state telling them that something terrible had happened. As they shooed her inside, Hilda gave her something for the shock and told her to calmly tell them what happened.

She soon told them that she got into her car and was pulling away when a man appeared out of nowhere and she knocked him down flat, he was now lying unconscious in the road and having forgotten her cellphone, she ran from the scene to get some help which is why she was there with them.

At that moment Oom Oubaas noticed that the youngsters had returned from their evening out, he quickly called them all inside and after having heard the story, Xander immediately sprang into action, sour faced Vanessa did not look happy.

The police were called while Felicity, Xander, Altus and Kabelo went back to the scene of the accident, but not before Hilda gave Felicity another dose of her concoction.

In the following days, the news of the accident spread throughout Hillside, poor Felicity was walking around in a trance, everyone was trying to be supportive but as usual Zinzi would blow the story completely out of proportion.

The story soon unfolded as we found out that Felicity’s blood alcohol level was much higher than what is required by law, she should not have been driving. The situation is made much worse when Xander drops the bomb about the man dying from his internal injuries, having never regained consciousness.

When Isabelle invites Felicity to dinner to take her mind off the situation, they are both shocked when the police arrive ready to arrest Felicity for manslaughter. Xander is called in but Felicity had to overnight in a holding cell until bail could be posted the next day.

Since the case has become more complicated, Xander informs Felicity that Mr Notnagel has handed the case over to a more experienced lawyer, Wilhelm who will be handling it on her behalf. Felicity is not happy but Xander insists that she deserves the best representation and this guy will be able to help her.

Upon hearing the whole story from Felicity, Wilhelm goes over everything in fine detail and later informs her that the only way for her to get a reduced sentence is for her to plead guilty. The lab tests proving that she had too much to drink will be difficult to contest and pleading guilty is the only way to go.

Felicity is not happy, in fact she’s very angry that this man dare tell her she was too drunk to drive, to even suggest that she had more than what she said she had but she kept quiet and called Xander to have a word with him about the lawyer.

Poor Xander was in a difficult position, his wife was as usual being her bitchy self and even though he was honest with her about seeing Felicity, she put up a hell of an argument about her needs, her feelings, her, her, her, shut up Vanessa!

Xander made his way to the boutique and Felicity told him everything that Wilhelm said to her, that she had to plead guilty because the lab results showed she had at least the equivalent of three glasses of wine.

Xander requested to see the glass she drank out of and he remarked on what a big glass it was but Felicity insisted she only had it half-full but the look on Xander’s face told her that not even he believed her.

Last night we saw Felicity having another glass of wine while working and she had barely touched the wine, just sipping here and there, the glass was still full when Karien walked in and Felicity told her that she is more convinced than ever that she only had a little wine on that fateful night, just like tonight, just like every other night, she will not be pleading guilty if she knows she is innocent.

What is Felicity to do now? If Xander, her ex-boyfriend won’t even believe her, then how will she convince her own lawyer or even a judge? Will she plead guilty and get a reduced sentence or will something else come to light, something like Hilda’s concoction which she gave Felicity to drink?

Don’t cry for me, Isabelle!

The Break-Up

It was the day of Ryno and Isabell’e engagement party and Isabelle was very excited. Meanwhile we had noticed the previous day when Emma had walked in on Isabelle and her sister Helena discussing the big secret that Isabelle was keeping from Ryno.

The fact that she had come to Johannesburg to kill him to get revenge on him for abandoning her sister during her pregnancy which ultimately lead to her death, was the one big secret which Isabelle was keeping from Ryno. Also Ryno could never find out that her memory had returned, she was inlove with him now and how she thought she was going to pull off a marriage based on not even knowing her own identity is beyond me, but that’s soaps for you, love makes them do crazy little things.

Since time was drawing near, Emma was overcome with how she was going to break this dreadful news to Ryno, she tried getting a hold of him countless times but she kept getting his voicemail.

Eventually Ryno was back in town and soon he and Emma came face to face in the bookshop, when she broke the news to him, he was not willing to believe her, he thought she had completely lost it again since she it was her last ditch attempt to get him back but she kept insisting that he ask Isabelle certain questions which will prove that she, Emma is not lying.

Ryno did not want to believe anything that Emma had told him but the next day while he was sitting in the bookshop and scratching around for something in the drawer, he came across Isabelle’s gun, this immediately put doubts in his mind about Isabelle.

He made his way to the Terreblanches to confront her but alas, she was not there. She was busy doing the girly things girls do when they are preparing for their engagement party. Meanwhile Helena was at home and she tried covering up for Isabelle, that was until Ryno showed her the gun he found and Helena knew the game was up, the secret had to be revealed.

Unable to hold out any longer, Helena blurted out the whole sordid secret about their sister Suzanne, who had died while aborting his baby, the anger and hatred the family had towards him, Ryno, how Isabelle came to Hillside specifically to kill Ryno, the amnesia she suffered after being attacked, uncovering her memory a few weeks back but still being too inlove with him to take revenge, out it all came.

Ryno stood in shock, unable to believe that his beloved fiancé was willing to murder him in cold blood, it was too much for him to bear, he ran out the house.

Soon afterwards Helena tried her best to get a hold of Isabelle but she kept missing her. Meanwhile the whole of Hillside was getting ready to party till dawn celebrating Ryno’s engagement to Isabelle. Isabelle came downstairs looking like a dream in blue but there was no sign of Ryno nor Helena.

The guests were getting antsy, wondering what was going on, all speculating on where Ryno could be. Eventually when Helena arrived, tired from running after Isabelle the whole day and being stuck in traffic, the two sisters went upstairs to discuss what really happened. Later Jan Hendrik came downstairs to inform the guests that the engagement was not happening that night.

Soon the skinder (gossip) stories started up!

The Make Up

In the days following Isabelle’s disastrous engagement party, Ryno couldn’t bear facing the woman he thought he loved. She, on the other hand blamed herself for everything that went wrong, we had to put up with Isabelle being depressed and feeling sorry for herself for quite a few episodes.

When Ryno eventually came to see her, her could barely look her in the eye. He just broke it off with her, just like that, not even giving her a chance to explain her side of the story, Isabelle was devastated.

Helena couldn’t understand why everyone kept saying what a wonderful man Ryno was yet he couldn’t forgive her sister or at least try to understand where she was coming from.

Things came to a head for Ryno and Isabelle when he bumped into her in the arcade and asked her straight out, if she had the opportunity to face him on that fateful night, would she have pulled the trigger? She coldly but truthfully answered “yes”, she had six bullets in her gun and she was planning to shoot him dead whatever it took. Ryno couldn’t believe this was his Livia, she was ice-cold but after having thought things through, he once again made his way to the Terreblanche house.

Isabelle had no idea why Ryno was there to see her, what more did he want from her, she already told him what he wanted to hear, why was he making this so hard for her? He told her, she doesn’t understand, he’s there to tell her that he loves her and wants her back, Isabelle didn’t know what to say, why, how?

He told her that by her admission about wanting to kill him in cold blood, she had the opportunity to lie to him but she didn’t which means that she could not lie about anything else now, in the end her love for him was stronger than her hatred of him.

With tears rolling down her cheeks, Isabelle was so overcome with emotion, she just fell into Ryno’s arms as they kissed and laughed and made up for good.

They eventually went away on a pre-honeymoon since they had both decided not to get married immediately, when they returned they threw a party to celebrate their relationship. It was at this party that Ryno surprised Isabelle by proposing to her a second time, to which she said “yes”.

The two are now happily planning for their future, with a surprise windfall coming Ryno’s way on one of his books, they decided to buy the Terreblanche house and Isabelle is doing all the decorating and furnishings in preparation for the big move.

Jan Hendrik and Helena’s battle for ownership

When Dezi broke off her marriage to Jan Hendrik and merrily went on her way, JH was slightly lost, he threw himself into his work to numb the pain he was feeling. Eventually he started dating, different women night after night, his mother became very concerned.

When JH heard that some property was up for sale in 7de laan, he seemed interested but where was he going to get the capital from, we know that the Terreblanches were in a dire financial situation what with Robyn running off with their R2 million on a fake coffee plantation.

Eventually he got some real estate people to do an evaluation on the Terreblanche house, the figure came back and it was more than what JH expected. He spoke to Madel about his intentions of selling the house but she wasn’t happy. She fought with him tooth and nail but it all fell on deaf ears, Madel wanted to hold onto the house for sentimental reasons and JH saw a sound financial investment, besides, the house reminded him of Dezi hence him wanting to get out fast.

Madel had to admit that the house was getting to her too, it seemed ghostly and empty and lonely. Christelle was happily married and living in Scotland, Tiaan was never coming back, JH was being choked living in the house and she, Madel needed a restful place to retire and live out her years, a big rambling house in the middle of Johannesburg was certainly not the place to do it.

She eventually gave in but not after giving JH some major grief. She offered to let Ryno and Isabelle have their party at the house, as sort of a farewell to the house, the last time that the house would be filled with love, laughter and friends. Madel got her wish as everyone celebrated the engaged couple. Soon afterwards, Madel left for Waenhuiskrans but not before re-living some good and not so good memories in her house.

Jan Hendrik was battling to find a person willing to buy the house for the price he wanted. There was interest but it came to nothing and with each passing day, JH was getting more and more frustrated.

Meanwhile Helena, Isabelle’s sister from Sydney Australia had decided to stay on in South Africa. She decided to sell her gallery overseas and when she heard about the offer on the shops in 7de laan and that JH was battling to put up the money or to have his house sold, she sneakily went behind everyone’s backs and put in an offer to purchase the buildings.

Eventually Ryno’s windfall (his book was being made into a movie overseas) came through and Isabelle expressed her interest in the Terreblanche house. JH was surprised but happy to finally sell his house at the asking price. Needless to say when he phoned the real estate guy, he was not happy to hear that someone else had already put in an offer to purchase the buildings, when he heard it was Helena, JH saw red.

Helena saw nothing wrong with what she did, it was a business transaction and she saw it as a good investment, besides it was her intention to re-open the gallery so being the owner would suit her well. Off course, JH and Isabelle didn’t see it that way, they were absolutely livid. Isabelle begged and pleaded with Helena to withdraw her offer but Helena refused.

Soon Helena and JH went head to head trying to outdo each other by offering an extra hundred thousand, then it was two hundred thousand until Helena eventually decided to give in, this was becoming too ridiculous. JH was very happy that he won this round, Helena went away for a few days to lick her wounds after JH insisted she cannot get out of her contract to lease the gallery, she’s liable for the monthly rental on the place for the first twelve months.

It’s nice to see a different side to JH for a change, a man willing to stand up and take charge, not the wimpy mama’s boy role he played for a long time.

When Helena got back, she and JH sort of made peace and one can sense there’s definitely something brewing between the two, they’re just not ready to admit it yet.

So Helena is in charge of the gallery and Bruynwaves have to spark to get the contract to launch the opening of the gallery. Helena looks like a no-nonsense girl, she even told Vince to spice up the menu, she wants nothing ordinary.

Helena is definitely the new up and coming independent businesswoman taking the place of Dezi, will she replace Dezi in JH’s heart as well?

Altus and Marko – The Biggest Losers!

A few weeks back, Marko and Altus made a bet to win Karien’s heart, the winner would get three cases of beer, the game was on. The boys bent over backwards to impress Karien while at the same time trying to outwit each other.

When the girls heard of the bet between the guys, they were not impressed, least of all Karien. Alyce on the other hand saw an opportunity for Karien to get revenge on the guys, “leave it in my hands”, she slyly told Karien while cackling like a witch.

So it would appear, Alyce made sure the guys spent all their money on Karien, only the best for this girl. Expensive perfume, flowers, chocolates, tickets to the ballet, plays, you name it, Karien got her every wish catered for but she was feeling more and more guilty by the day.

Alyce was loving every minute of it because she was scoring with all the chocolates and perfumes which turned out to be her favourites and not Karien’s, just the way she planned it.

After quite a number of weeks of pampering, Karien had had enough. She told Alyce the game was over. So she bought six cases of beer, had it delivered to the offices, personally gave it to the guys telling them that she doesn’t want to ever go out with either one of them again, she was nobody’s trophy and they will never be anything more than friends for her, and that was that, GAME OVER!

Naturally the boys were hurt and rightfully looked ashamed of their actions but everything went back to normal after that, nobody tried their luck again, thank goodness!

Will the real Paula please stand up?

Paula returned from her trip to the lodge dressed as an old-time movie star. It turned out that her search to find herself revealed that she had a multi-faceted personality, with the movie star just being one aspect of it.

The movie star phase was followed by other expressions of her personality, namely a butch tomboy and a Miranda Priestly wannabe. The changes of personalities drove her friends (and probably most of the audience) a little crazy.

While waiting for another side to emerge after the Miranda Priestly phase, Paula discovered that she had been sent emails from three different guys asking her for a date. She’d been unable to access her email for a while, and so had no idea as to which of her personalities each guy was interested. Instead of doing the sensible thing and looking at the date of each email, she used their names as the sole basis for determining which side of her they were, her logic being that certain types of names would be interested in certain types of personalities.

At the urging of her friends, Paula set up dates with all three of them on different nights, but two of them requested a change and she ended up with all three on the same night. Predictably, she had got the personalities each guy was interested in completely wrong, resulting in none of the dates actually going ahead as she had to make a quick exit in order to try and change personalities. Eventually, all three guys wound up at her flat and a fight broke out between them.

Following this, Paula decided that her quest for her true self would be better served by returning to the lodge. She took unpaid leave in order to do so, although quite how she still has a job from which she can take unpaid leave does seem like a bit of a mystery. Upon her return, she’s back to the old, shallow Paula.

An Inconvenient Oubaas

After Moekie told him that Rondomskrik was experiencing a drought, Oubaas came to the conclusion that it was the fault of global warming. He then began a campaign to fight global warming by setting up regulations to be followed by the residents and businesses of the Heights.

Mandla hit upon the idea of extending this to the whole of Hillside by implementing a competition in the Times, with Oubaas as a judge. This soon had everyone very busy, trying to out-do each other.

One of these was the Bookshop’s new employee Matrone, who went as far as setting up a compost heap in the Bookshop’s backyard. It looked as though this compost heap would have been the thing that caused the Bookshop to win.

However, Hilda became suspicious and went to investigate. The winner of the competition was just about to be announced at a function in Oppiekoffie when Hilda burst in, revealing the truth about the compost heap – it was actually bubble wrap with a few branches covering it to make it look like the real thing.

With the Bookshop disqualified, the prize wound up going to the Boutique. The prize included a trip to St Lucia, and Emma and Tessa insisted that Felicity go, even though she protested that she had too much work to do on her new range.

Later Jan Hendrik gave Oom Oubaas the good news that he will be honoured at a special banquet for his efforts in raising awareness of this global problem and getting people involved. The old man was chuffed and so was Hilda and Maria who were thrilled to be sharing this momentous occasion with him.

Hilda arranged for a little get together at her place for after the ceremony and everyone was there to congratulate Oom Oubaas, everyone was looking quite snazzy in their outfits.

Needless to say, Matrone was feeling slightly left out of the proceedings while Hilda was flaunting it all in her face.

Starting a band, baby

After hearing some of the girls sing the praises of a local boy band, Vince hit upon the idea of starting his own band in order to pull in the girls. The band’s initial line-up consisted of Vince, Mandla, Marko and Lukas.

Things weren’t going too well for the band until Alyce heard about them and took an interest. Although they weren’t very good at that stage, she saw potential and took charge, remodelling them as a rap band, with Marko rapping, herself singing, and the others provided backing vocals, sounds and dance moves.

Not long after that, Lukas took on a job as barman at O’Malley’s in order to earn some extra cash. This meant that he had to quit the band, and ended up being replaced by Diederik. It also meant that Lukas has yet to have a significant role in any storyline.

Meanwhile San-Mari began to think that she and Marko were on the road to becoming an item once more, something which upset Diederik, who has had a crush on her for a while. Her hopes were dashed though, when Marko began dating a blonde he met at the announcement of the winner of the Times’ competition.

The band decided that they needed a ballad as a contrast in their set and Diederik wrote one, using San-Mari as inspiration. The rest of the band weren’t that impressed by it, and they decided instead that Marko should sing “When I Fall in Love”.

The band aptly named “Nameless” made their debut performance at the club and it was a huge success, with everyone very impressed. One of those who was impressed was Marko’s blonde girlfriend, and he slipped out during the interval for a make out session with her.

This left the band with a problem as Marko was due to sing “When I Fall in Love” immediately after the break. Unable to get hold of him, it was decided that Diederik should sing instead.

The band came out without Marko, ready to perform. Diederik was overcome with stage fright and was unable to start singing, but when he noticed San-Mari sitting in the front row he broke into his ballad, which proved to be the biggest success of the evening.

Marko’s love life took a turn for the worse, as his girlfriend dumped him after seeing Diederik sing. Diederik’s love life however has improved, as he invited San-Mari to an oldies evening at the club where the two of them ended up dancing together.

Comments from Diederik made San-Mari wonder about the ballad. Eventually she figured out that he had written it for her and told him so, saying it was the most wonderful thing anyone had ever done for her, she thanked him by giving him a sweet passionate kiss.

The two lovebirds are now stealing stolen moments gazing adoringly into each other’s eyes at every corner.

When Diederik gets a distressed call from his mom telling him that their farm had been burgled and that his dad got hurt, Diederik immediately decided to pack his bags and head off to Prieska to support his mom during this difficult time.

Meanwhile San Mari is missing her nerdy, gangly boyfriend terribly, they’re so cute together these two. Hopefully he’ll be back soon before San Mari turns her focus elsewhere.

Nameless on the other hand are getting more and more gigs, the latest coming from Helena who want them for the re-launch of her gallery, but without their lead singer Diederik who was such a hit, will they be able to pull it off or will Diederik be back in time to save the day?

Errol, the homeless streetkid

A few weeks back, Errol came onto the scene as this homeless, pitiful looking boy, hungry and willing to take any scraps he could get. At first we were confused as to what role he would play because wherever Neville was, Errol would turn up looking longingly at Neville and his happy family. Was this Neville’s long lost son or something to that effect?

Well Errol eventually went looking for work at the Hillside Times and Neville took pity on him and gave him a chance, he would do the deliveries in the mornings.

The boy was overjoyed but there was something clearly off with him, he was a smooth talker, always telling stories about his happy family, when it was clear he was anything but happy. He was also a boy that was very proud, no handouts for him, Aggie warmed up to the boy and helped out where she could, giving him extra work to earn some more money, giving her take-aways to him, etc.

Soon Neville and Aggie realized that Errol was actually a very bright boy, he just needed a chance in life to make something of himself but there were times when Errol would not turn up for work.

He was given countless chances and Charmaine and Neville disagreed constantly about the boy using Neville, taking advantage of his generosity. None of us, not even Neville could understand why the “mother of the laan” was so cold towards Errol.

Eventually Neville got Errol into a shelter for homeless children but that turned out disastrous, Errol was constantly beaten up and robbed of all his money and belongings. He ran away from the home and ended up sleeping on the streets, which is where Aggie saw him.

The next day Errol came to work looking sick, he had a nasty cough and with the rain coming down in torrents, the street was no place for any child to sleep on. The whole situation of Errol became too much for Charmaine, one rainy night she went out looking for Errol, found him, brought him home, gave him food, medicine , a nice bath and a warm bed to sleep in.

The next day, the Beukes household was surprised to find Errol there. Charmaine said she just didn’t have the heart to know that a sick child was sleeping on the streets.

Errol was making himself comfy in Charmaine’s house and eventually Charmaine had to tell Neville to find another home for the boy. Neville couldn’t understand what was up with Charmaine, one minute she’s all loving and motherly, the next thing she wants the boy gone, what was up with that?

She explained to Neville that it’s because she was becoming hopelessly too attached to the boy and if he stays longer, she will not be able to let him go. Soon afterwards, Errol now living at the new shelter was again beaten up and landed in hospital this time, it was too much for Charmaine and she told Neville that Errol will be moving in with them.

Neville tried his best to convince Errol to take a test at the university to establish what grade he should be in since he has not been going to school for awhile and they can see the potential in the child. Marko was the one who eventually convinced Errol to take the test but he was more worried about failing even though they explained that it’s not a pass/fail test. He eventually took the test but is more convinced that he failed it since they asked lots of stupid questions.

Meanwhile, selfish Vanessa hated the idea of her mother playing mom to yet another kid, what about her, what about her son Dwayne, did she forget about him? Hurtful words were exchanged but Charmaine told her brattish, bitchy daughter that nobody will ever replace your own child, she, Vanessa should know that.

Xander on the other hand was more concerned about the legal implications of his father and Charmaine taking in a streetkid, what about his family, they could get into trouble, best to do things the legal way, he convinced them.

So now Charmaine and Neville are in the process of adopting Errol, becoming his legal guardians but there’s one little loophole. When Charmaine told Errol about the social worker visiting them to enquire about Errol’s parents and get their permission, he became all agitated saying it was no business of the social worker to ask about his life.

Charmaine tried to explain it was a means for them to get to keep him legally but the child became all tearful, blurting out that he has no father, he has no idea who or where his father was and his mother just threw him away. Charmaine was all choked up with emotion, I was all choked up, there’s one thing I can say about the actor playing Errol, he does a mighty fine job of those tear jerker scenes.

The next day Errol refused to get up, he was holed up in his room until Neville came in to speak to him about the raw deal that life dishes out, he gave him some motivational speech about the Paris Hiltons of this world who receive everything in life whilst others don’t’ get such lucky breaks, those are the ones who have to work extra hard and make something of themselves, this touching speech seemed to have the desired effect on Errol.

Later the social worker came to see Errol and what little she got out of him was basically what he told Charmaine, he never knew his father and his mother abandoned him when he was still much younger.

She told Charville that she will make her recommendations to the Commissioner who will then decide if they are able to become Errol’s foster parents.

When Errol emerged from his room, he became all caught up with emotion worrying about whether he will still be able to stay with the Meintjies or go back to a children't shelter, Charmaine tried to reassure him everything will work out.

Will Charmaine and Neville succeed in legally adopting Errol or will his real parents pitch up?

Robert King – Sneaky Snake or Gentle Giant?

We were introduced to a new character recently and he came in the form of Robert King, new senior partner at Notnagel.

Brunynwaves has just landed their biggest contract to date with the opening of a series of supermarkets throughout the country and they needed the expertise of a qualified lawyer to handle all the legal mumbo jumbo, Xander did not qualify.

That person turned out to be Robert King, smooth talker, highly successful, handsome, well respected and very much married. Alas, we have never seen his wife but we heard that she’s a beautiful, smart independent woman working for an IT company and travelling in and out of the country.

So Robert starts working for Bruynwaves and soon we see him spending lots of time with Karien, alone. The flirting soon starts from his side only, he usually has meetings in restaurants or coffee shops and one afternoon he told Karien to do a voice recording for him using the excuse that it was a lecture he had to do at the university about contracts. The dialogue sounded very dodgy and the next day, Robert bought Karien a huge bunch of flowers to say thank-you for her brilliant acting abilities the previous day.

Karien seemed uneasy about all the attention Robert was lavishing on her, then he sent her an sms which was very suggestive and improper for a business relationship. Karien showed Danny the sms but she just brushed it aside thinking it was rather funny but Karien didn’t seem amused at all.

What is Robert playing at, why is a married man flirting outrageously with an attractive blonde and making suggestive comments? What doe he want with Karien? Is she being overly cautious when Robert is just being friendly? Will she fall for him or is there something more sinister going on here?

Other Developments

-Since Emma has returned to Hillside, she has been nothing but bitchy and moody and over-emotional. First she wanted Ryno back but when she saw that was a lost cause, she turned her focus to her weight. She is now working for Felicity in the Boutique and recently we have seen her become obsessed with losing weight.

She started dieting, drinking horrible shakes to sustain her and when that didn’t work, she turned to eating soup. Meanwhile she was secretly stuffing herself with hamburgers, chips, sweets and cakes when no-one was looking, she has completely lost her senses and is snapping at all the thin chicks around her, blaming them for flaunting their slenderness in her face.

Her latest diet is the Kate Moss diet and we all know what that woman looks like, does Emma honestly think starving herself is the way to lose weight? She used to be such a sensible girl, why doesn’t she go to a dietician and join the gym, silly woman!

-Marko has recently remembered the promise he made to Bart when somebody commented on Tessa missing Bart terribly. He made a promise that he would keep an eye on Tessa and when Altus gave him the good news that he would be climbing Kilimanjaro, (his dream apparently) he invited Tessa out to celebrate with him.

The two spoke of Bart the whole evening and this made Tessa feel safe with Marko somehow. Last night he gave her copies of photographs of the infamous boxing match between him and Bart and one could see that what Marko was doing was definitely helping her deal with Bart’s death. Will Tessa see Marko in a different light, a more romantic light perhaps?

-Neville gave Mandla some good news about him being honoured for some young journalist award and this made Paula see green. Her jealousy is further fuelled by Neville telling her to write a profile about Mandla and Mandla was enjoying every minute of taunting poor Paula.

When Alyce read Mandla’s profile and realized that he came from a good school, one could almost see the rands dancing in her eyes. Her focus is now on Mandla hoping to reel him in since in her mind, Mandla must have rich parents who could afford to send him to such a prestigious school.

With all Paula’s moaning about Mandla’s boring function, he turned to Alyce who was standing next to him and invited her to accompany him to the awards ceremony. Naturally she was only too happy to oblige. Will Mandla find love in Alyce or is Alyce a recipe for heartbreak and tears?

-There’s a new cleaner from out of town who has started working for Aggie’s Cleaning Services and there seems to be something secretive about her. Last night we saw her watching Mandla and his group of friends in Oppiekoffie, she was specifically looking at Mandla so I’m not sure if she’s some kind of relative or maybe its her son whom she gave up for adoption?

Nice one Shirms, i really would like old wig Vanessa to get over herself, i mean really, if she's not moaning about Xander its about Errol, LOL! @ Emma, geez she's sooooo obsesssed with herself, for f! sakes she's the one who dumped Ryno, i mean its like how many months now, surely she should know that losing weight is not going to bring Ryno back. I dont feel that band maan, i dont even know why people were cheering that loud, Diedrik' ordinary guy was maybe music to Annamarie's ears but still they cant sing!!! viva Oubaas viva, i love that man, i love him!!! what's with Alice's love for rich guys? Mandla and her are really not going to be a nice looking couple, even Mandla's dad will not allow it, that cleaner looks like she's Mandla's mother

Toxic: OMG Shirm---the article's 30pgs long (girl, how long did it take to type this???)!!!!

Heehee! Really? Well on MS Word it was about 14 pages long, whereas other times its about 7, so this is basically two articles in one, that will teach me to wait so long before doing a re-cap.  It took me only about the whole of Monday but it would'be been longer if I didn't have Cit helping out.

Yeah I reckon Rebecca is Mandla's mom, its the only thing I can think of right now, 7de laan love their long lost son stories.

Yay for Errol, Charville managed to adopt him at least for the next two years.

Agree with Charmaine, that mop just has to go, hopefully she can convince Vanessa to get rid of her mop, its an eyesore.

<Agree with Charmaine, that mop just has to go> Which mop? Errol's mop?

Yep, Charmaine said Errol's mop must go, if only she could turn her attention to her own daughter's horrific mop.

I wonder what Errol will look like without that junk thats on his head, i  think Charmaine has lost interest in that stupid daughtercof hers, its not like she ever listens Shirmell, she's probably been begging her to chop it off since birth but Vannessa is very stubborn!!
