In the third weekly TVSA Poll, conducted last week, TVSA readers were divided over the question of whether shoolchildren should be allowed to participate in reality TV shows or not.
With 516 unique votes cast, it was a 52-48 split in favour of allowing their participation. Seventeen-year-old Idols 4 winner Jody can breathe easy, as can almost the entire cast of Supersterre.
It was a close-run race, with 266 votes for and 250 votes against. Clearly it's a highly divisive issue which could have gone either way.
TVSA's position is that schoolchildren are already highly distracted in these fast-paced times - spending weeks away from their studies in the full glare of the media spotlight is hardly likely to make academic success easy.
Since when do children need to be famous? Whatever happened to completing your studies and emerging fresh-faced with options into a bright future?
There's plenty of time to be famous, but there's no time like the present to be well-educated. Reality fame can be fleeting - education is forever.
The third weekly poll is now live on the site (in the right hand side) and this week's question is as follows: "Are continuity presenters necessary, or are they a waste of time?"
A voiceover is just as effective at conveying information as a live person, but it could be argued that a continuity announcer provides a human face for their channel and a more personal vibe.
Are you fond of your continuity stars, or do you wish they would disappear? Make your vote count by choosing "Necessary - they provide a personal touch" or "A waste of time - a voiceover will suffice" in answer to the question.
You can only vote once per poll.
