Antoine Fuqua (Training Day) directs this blockbuster action-adventure starring Bruce Willis as a Navy SEAL officer who travels to civil war-torn Nigeria to rescue an American doctor.

When Lt. Waters (Willis) arrives, Dr. Lena Kendricks (Monica Bellucci) refuses to abandon the refugees under her care, instead persuading Waters and his team to escort them on a dangerous trek through the jungle to the Cameroonian border, where they find themselves inexplicably pursued by an army of rebels.

Upon discovering that the sole survivor of the country’s previous ruling family - whom the rebels have been ordered to eliminate at all costs - is among the band of refugees they feel obliged to protect, Waters and his small band of soldiers must weigh the life of one man against their own. When Melvin tries to convince Carol to return to work, she ends up getting entangled into the chaotic life of this misanthropic oddball. Meanwhile, in an unpredictable turn of events, Melvin’s world is infiltrated by his ailing artist neighbour, Simon (Greg Kinnear) and his tiny dog, throwing Melvin, Carol and Simon together as they begin to discover things about themselves and each other, which they never expected to learn.
