Ok, I know the story about Cupid is just a boring as talking about load shedding.
But on my way to work this morning, i thought......
WHAT REALLY IS LOVE?
My favourite poem reads:
Let me not to the marriage of true minds
Admit impediments. Love is not love
Which alters when it alteration finds,
Or bends with the remover to remove:
O no! it is an ever-fixed mark
That looks on tempests and is never shaken;
It is the star to every wandering bark,
Whose worth's unknown, although his height be taken.
Love's not Time's fool, though rosy lips and cheeks
Within his bending sickle's compass come:
Love alters not with his brief hours and weeks,
But bears it out even to the edge of doom.
If this be error and upon me proved,
I never writ, nor no man ever loved.
And the bible says:
Love is patient, love is kind.
It is not jealous, it is not pompous,
It is not inflated, it is not rude,
it does not seek its own interests,
it is not quick-tempered, it does not brood over injury,
it does not rejoice over wrongdoing
but rejoices with the truth.
It bears all things, believes all things,
hopes all things, endures all things.
Love never fails.
I still didnt have the answer as to what, really, this thing called love is, in real practicality. Does it mean yuo have to be a floor-mat? Does it mean you have to have an electric smile? I'm confused.
Some of us grew up in a society where when your parents hit you they say it's because the love you. Does that mean, men that hit their women these days can also claim the same excuse?? Does that mean it is possible to hurt someone for love?
Now, on the reasons I wrote this article.
1. I want to know what you, bloggers, think love is.
2. When does love come in arelationship? before you get to know him/her or after?
3. Before or after you've had sex?
4. What is the difference between love & attraction.
5. Where does lust fit?
6. What extremes would you go to, to show someone you love them?
