Guy Georges: The Beast Of The Bastille

Guy Georges was suspected of torturing, raping and killing seven women between 1991 and 1997.
On March 27th 1998, French police, in the largest manhunt in French criminal history, picked up Georges - who was homeless at the time - in Montmartre after police matched his DNA to four murders and one attempted rape.
While in custody, he confessed to three more murders. This programme reveals all about the Beast of the Bastille.

Jeffrey Dahmer

This programme profiles Dahmer, the convicted serial killer from Milwaukee, USA. Between 1978 and 1991 Dahmer killed 17 men and boys.
The murders were particularly gruesome, involving acts of necrophilia, dismemberment and cannibalism.
He confessed to the 17 murders and in 1992, was found guilty of 15 of them and sentenced to life imprisonment.
This special looks closely at the withdrawn man who deceived his parents, his victims and the police for 13 years until his arrest.

Heaven's Gate: The Definitive Story

Heaven's Gate was the name of an American religious group led by Marshall Applewhite and Bonnie Nettles. Applewhite convinced 39 followers to commit suicide.
He told them that the appearance of Hale-Bopp, an unusually bright comet, was the sign for them to shed their earthly bodies and join a spacecraft travelling behind the comet which would take them to a higher plane of existence.
We revisit the final hours of the California cult members and find out what happened to the relatives and remaining members left behind.
