101 More Things Removed From The Human BodyPremiere date: Saturday, 29 March at 22h00
101 More Things Removed from the Human Body is a one-hour special about people around the world who’ve survived extreme medical conditions.
The show features on-scene video and recreations, as well as 3D graphics, X-rays and other medical imagery to illustrate the extraordinary medical dilemma confronting doctors who have treated these patients, most of whom were in life-threatening situations.
Interviews with patients who have undergone miraculous removals of dangerous objects, as well as with the doctors who saved them, drive the compelling stories of quick emergency response and innovative surgical techniques.
Cases include two motorcycle riders who were impaled by the same metal rod, a woman who was speared by a living marlin, a scout who was struck in the forehead with a knife and a police officer who was impaled through the chest by a 2’ x 6’ board.
101 More Things Removed from the Human Body also features stories about a living fly larva growing inside a woman’s scalp, a woman who was stung by over 500 bees and a drill bit that went through a man’s skull.
Remarkably, all of the people featured survived and are doing well.
