This may read like a piece from a newspaper article, thats because it is indeed just that. I just copied and pasted, there's nothing wrong with that if I am the author mos, or kanjani??
Now, i told y' all about DDD sometime last year, i even mentioned that I auditioned and i was eliminated at top 46, after about 1000 people in Mzanzi auditioned.
So it came down to one winner and we wish him all the best. I take my hat off to all the dancers who made it to the top 14. Fellow dancers...you are all winners and may you indeed pave the way for the rest of us.
Publication: Pretoria News Author: Refilwe Thobega Loyal fans bid farewell to a great dance show For loyal fans it was hard to say goodbye to the reality dance show - Dans Dans Dans. But it must have been a lot harder for the contestants themselves to say goodbye to what has been like a family and a home for them for the past three months.
For the final episode at the weekend, the four dancers - Andile Ndlovu (19) of Joburg, Henk Opperman (17) of Bloemfontein, Nicole McCreedy (28) of Durban and Yarisha Singh (27) of Cape Town had to master more than five routines - obviously to give them enough room to showcase what they are really made of.
Yep, here's Andile, Nicole, Yarisha amd Henk - die wenner
In their solo performances, Henk made the Freestyle fans in the audience very happy with his effortless switching between different routines. Yarisha showed her versatility in a great routine of Spanish dance and the judges gave Nicole a standing ovation for her ballet - a style of dance not really seen in the show before. Andile who is "not scared to do anything" performed a Latin-American routine and got the judges saying "Die wreld is jou Koning" as he finished.
For their partnered routines: Henk and Nicole did the waltz and Andile and Yarisha did the foxtrot where they had "great chemistry going". Then they switched, and Henk and Yarish did the Samba and Andile and Nicole the Rumba.
The other dancers who made the top 14 were there too to perform and to support the competitors. Finally, it was not up to the judges but the viewers at home. Andile was first to go, Yarisha followed, leaving Nicole and Henk but it was Henk who won overall.
yes! I told you at one point I also took part, right? The lady in pink is moa, this was when we were in the top 100, they had had to cut about 900....
I remember we were learning the Jazz routine -- My magtig!
The creators of the programme - Mathew Gray and Billy White of Gray White Productions - said it was "about time" to have the show which the dance fraternity had been "crying out for". It became one of the most-watched shows on DStv's Kyknet channel with a loyal fan base.
Henk's winning formula was to always give his best and have fun in the process. His prizes include R100 000 in cash, a Citroen C1, a Nike voucher, one year membership at Planet Fitness, and a dance production contract with Cape Town's JazzArt Dance Theatre and a Corenery course worth 92 000.
For Henk it's a whole new beginning. As runner-up, Nicole said she came so close and "it feels wonderful to know that I have made it". Yarisha, a dance teacher at the University of Cape Town, will continue teaching and perform in various productions from now on. And as for Andile, he'll be joining the Washington Ballet in Washington DC in the US in June for about a month and he'll be going back again in September.
Judge Lorcia Cooper said all the finalists were "winners" .
Apparently eversince the show started, producers have been fending off companies who wanted to offer dancers contracts or sponsorships. So this gave dancers a lot of opportunities and now that the show is over...its a whole new game card for all of them.
