In July 2004, a nationwide search for Lori Hacking was in place. Her husband Mark pleaded for help and information, but before long Mark Hacking became a person of interest in the investigation. Based on an anonymous tip, police searched their apartment.

Six days after her disappearance, Mark confessed all to his brothers, who later notified the police. What had began as a case of a missing jogger, was now a case of a murdered wife. This special looks into the unraveling of Mark's life - his background, his family and the web of lies that may have led him to murder.

Murder Capital
Premiere date: Wednesday, 21 May 2008 at 20h30

British actor John Michie investigates two of the worst crimes that have occurred in Glasgow's history.

The documentary reveals more about the mass murder of six members of the innocent Doyle family in an arson attack during the infamous Ice-Cream wars, as they were caught in the crossfire of a criminal turf war.

The show also looks at the killing of Arthur Thompson Jnr, the son of Glasgow’s 'Godfather', which led to revenge attacks and contract killings and the subsequent trial of gangland figure, Paul Ferris.

Both crimes led to the biggest trials Scotland had ever seen and both became mired in controversy and scandal. John Michie talks to those involved and finds out the real motives behind the crimes, using news footage, dramatic reconstructions and interviews with police and crime experts.
