Premiere date: Sunday, 25 May 2008 at 20h00

Steven Fry returns as Peter Kingdom, a popular country solicitor from a quaint seaside village in Norfolk, Market Shipborough, whose life is overshadowed by the mysterious disappearance of his brother.

The drama focuses on Kingdom’s dysfunctional family, the people he works with and the town’s residents. As Peter drives around in his beloved Alvis, investigating one case after another, we see the community through his eyes, as he deals with various, often amusing, trials. Intelligent, patient and mildly eccentric, Peter Kingdom is a figure of strength and goodwill in the local community.

Season 1 ended with Peter Kingdom receiving news that he’s to become an uncle by a mystery woman who arrives out of the blue. Cue to this second season and Peter Kingdom is literally left holding the baby.

When Daniel, his missing brother’s child is left with him, Peter finds himself having to learn all about looking after a baby. There’s also an even bigger surprise in store for Peter and his sister Beatrice (Hermione Norris).

Also coming up in Season 2: Karl Davies returns to the village as an eager trainee solicitor and Lyle Anderson goes beyond the call of duty, stripping bear while solving the problems of a group of nudists.

Also starring Celia Imrie (Calendar Girls) who plays the loyal receptionist, Gloria Millington; Phyllida Law (Monarch of the Glen) who plays Peter’s mad Aunt Auriel; and Tony Slattery (Ahead of the Class) who plays Sidney Snell, Market Shipborough’s most irritable resident.

William and Mary (Rebroadcast)
Premiere date: Thursday, 29 May 2008 at 20h00
Runs Mondays to Fridays

William and Mary is a romantic comedy about two people's search for the perfect partner.

Widowed father of two William Shawcross is captivated by the dark-haired divorcee he sees on a dating agency video and rejects all the other candidates. His first date with mother-of-two Mary Gilcrest isn't a big success, and Mary's mother has her own ideas about the right husband for her daughter.

But can the obvious chemistry between William and Mary overcome the obstacles in their path? - not least their wildly different jobs: she is a midwife and he is an undertaker.... Starring Martin Clunes (Shakespeare In Love, Men Behaving Badly, A Is For Acid) and Julie Graham (At Home With The Braithwaites).
