New on Zone Reality this May:

NEW SERIES

Lisa Williams: Life Among The Dead 2
Premiere date: Sunday, 4 May 2008 at 21h00

TVSA's Lisa Williams: Life Among The Dead 2 mini-site.

-----

I, Detective
Premiere date: Monday, 5 May 2008 at 20h00
Double half-hour episodes. The series runs through Season 1 and 2.

I, Detective gives armchair detectives and forensic science junkies the opportunity to solve real cases.

Each episode gives viewers the opportunity to follow clues, find evidence and learn how this information is used to solve some of the most intriguing investigations using the same evidence, suspects, motives and witness statements that actual investigators encounter in their quest to solve the crime.

The premiere episode revisits the investigation of the1992 kidnapping of Exxon’s head of International Operations, Sydney Reso, from his American home.

The FBI initially believed Reso had been kidnapped in response to the Exxon Valdez spill, and radical environmental organizations were suspected immediately. Many other possible suspects were also investigated. Only after a series of ransom letters and carefully placed phone calls did investigators finally get the opportunity to catch the criminals in a false ransom drop-off.

Intervention
Premiere date: Monday, 5 May 2008 at 21h00
Runs weeknights.
Duration: 1 hour

Intervention profiles people whose dependence on drugs and alcohol or other compulsive behavior has brought them to a point of personal crisis and estranged them from their friends and loved ones.

Each Intervention episode ends with a surprise intervention that is staged by the family and friends of the alcohol or drug addict. The interventions are conducted by one of four Intervention specialists: Jeff VanVonderen, a former pastor, Candy Finningan, a former addict, Ken Seeley, a former meth addict and Tara Fields who holds a PhD with a degree in psychology.

Intervention raises awareness about the alternatives and treatment options available to those who suffer from an alcohol or drug addiction and gives hope to families who have nowhere left to turn.

However, as in real life, not all interventions featured in the series end well. Some addicts have walked out of the intervention and refused to go to the treatment facility. Others have agreed to get treatment only to leave the facility early due to rule violations, behaviour problems, or a general desire not to be in attendance any more. Some addicts who leave early enter another facility to continue treatment - many do not.

Early in the morning of February 21, 1991, Gladis Soto, an aspiring school teacher and devoted mother of six children, killed her philandering husband and gruesomely tried to dispose of his body. The question before the jury at her trial was: Is she a cold-blooded murder who acted out of jealousy in a premeditated crime, or a Ventura County housewife pushed to the edge after 15 years of well documented abuse?
