OFF TOPIC DOUBLE RELOADED
I would like to firstly say thank you to Carino for providing me with the Double Reloaded title. I have also realised that it has become difficult to access the Off-Topic Reloaded article and a fresh start is needed.
Am I the only one that thinks that the Mzansi Not-So-Sho Ngamla short stories are just not interesting? I actually like the concept of programmes that incorporate oNgamula since SABC1 has neglected that market. Do you enjoy the short stories on Mondays at 20:30 and if not what do you think is missing from them? *BTW, yesterday I saw abelungu bekikiza yesterday on the show (someone please provide the English term for this); now what I would like to know is was that real or was it faked?*
I sometimes have the tendency to overlook certain things until someone or some people draw my attention to it. I am saying this in reference to the new Frisco advert. When I first saw the ad I made a decision not to find it offensive, so I told myself the ad was okay. But ever since last week I find it very offensive because I haven’t came across a black person that still slurps their coffee or tea like it is done in the ad in the past ten years and I feel that’s it’s wrong to be perceived in that manner. Bloggers please tell me what are your thoughts about this advert?
I didn’t get an opportunity to watch LIVE this past Friday so I’d like to know has Touch improved his presenting skills and has Bonang calmed down or usanguphaphiyosi? *Oh and Carino, what was it that you wanted to say about Touch’s starched shirts and him losing sponsorship for them, uthini?*
This Off-Topic is more of a concern. I would really be impressed if our “beloved” local soap GeneRubbish would reflect the diversity of our beautiful country. Now I am Zulu *yeah yeah niyazi……LOL* but somehow I find it unfair what Bab’Vundla is doing when we have eleven beautiful languages yet whenever a person is to speak a language that’s neither English nor their home language, the language they speak will definitely be Zulu. For instance the Shabane’s (Dumisane & Bridgette) are Xhosa speaking and that was a perfect opportunity to have people speaking Xhosa *since vele uAjex is already making a mockery of it…….LOL* But instead the Shabane’s speak XoZulu (that is Zulu with a Xhosa accent).
I really don’t understand because even when Kenny Mash and Karabo speak isiZulu you can hear that it’s torture for them, so why force it? I believe that there are enough Zulu speaking people on Generations and why aren’t they learning other languages? Why doesn’t Paul, Ntombi, Khethiwe, Sbudah, S’bari or even Samuel rock Sesotho for a change? Hayi mani, this is not on, what do you guys think about this?
Oh and am I the only one that absolutely cannot stand the Brand Power *helping you buy better* adverts? yerrrrrrrr………..
For now I’ll leave it there. Feel free to say all your Off-Topics here guys and have a fantabulous day.
