Celebrities and their daily excuses of their health. I thought this people were suppose to lead by example . One day they preach about protection and the next they are all over the paper about being sick and admitted in the government hospital.

I mean if you hear your body detoriting it means these something wrong and while trying to protect youyr name from people who will always write about people " They" celebrities should go and take ARV's than them dying like they dont know what could atleast help them to be themselves again.

There is a news reader who has been positive for years and she taking of her health. I mean we ordinary people deal more positively to being " POSITIVE" than them go to Hospital people are taking ARV's there's nothing to be ashamed of cause shwashwi wont stop talking even if u die or not.

AIDS now it's not a breaking news or first page thing we are all used to it . It affect us in differnt ways whether in your family, you or your husband so celebrities should know that okusalayo they are part of this cycle to somebody else and a celebrity to newspaper and TV only .

This is here to stay if you are positive dont let yourself die cause ushwashwi uzokulandela e Hospital , if they follow you to the ARV clinic smile and say " I m positive and still have chance to live with this".Then start a project for helping peope who are restitance to admitting thier status . I mean that could be a good publicity for you "Celebrtities".

I can feel where sister is coming from even if people are not celebs they just wont be seen in ARV clinics. I lost some friends unnessesarily cause they did not start taking care of themselves early.Also its not only government hospitals that offer treatment so people go to yo doctor and get help before its too late.

i feel what you are saying most of our artists and people die needlessly. look at magic johnson,the guy is still around in 2008 since he came out in the early 90's.He takes care of himself.
look at khabzela,if anyone has read that book that came out a couple of years ago.its really gut wrenching what happened to him but if it had been detected earlier and he had been on medication earlier.he could still be around.
i think we need to change our mindsets not only around treatment but getting checked on a regular basis.if needless deaths are to be avoided.

Being HIV + is not easy and so is disclosing your status, celebrity or no celebrity. But i guess it would be stupid for me to have unprotected sex because my celebrity role model is not using protection. At the end of the day it's all about you and the respect that you have for your own life.

We must focus on how are going to overcome this spread of AIDS rather than telling thee so called Celebrities how to live their lives. Really people the line has been crossed here and firstly the writer of this article shud know better than to stick her nose into other people's lives.Whether they shud set a gud example or not but these Celebrities are also human and they are allowed to live their lives as they please.

Did u ever tell ur neighbour who's got AIDS to go to the Clinic and take ARV'S i guess no because u know exactly the answer u'll get from him/her. So let the Celebrities be and focus on what they do best that made them Celebrities in the first place.

@ Hlehle I would tell my neighbour to go there and take ARV's cause I have been with people who are positive in my family and I for one did have TB not once but twice so if u think I m dissing celeb's no I m not I have been there not one twice the treatment for 6 months then the second time it was for 9 months , first 2 months it was injection because I had this the second time .

I lost 2 aunt and uncles because of AIDS now I have a aunt who is on ARV's for 2 yrs now so I m not just talking I know the situation better cause we are dealing with it daily.

TO HAVE THIS DISEASE DOES'NT MEAN YOU SLEPT AROUND CAUSE BELIEVE ME OR NOT UR HUBY CAN CAME WITH IT WHILE U A AT HOME!!

@Jeans, Sista whoever you are that wrote this article i think yours is brilliant just bad timing. i feel you on certain issues, but preaching wont help. i understand why you talking about celebrities.Dont get me wrong i'm not saying Jabu had it. All i'm saying is if they can set examples by taking care of themselves most of their wannabe's will as well.

One other thing if your status is confidential as claimed then why dont they prescribe those ARV's like any other chronic medicine(hope ya'll understand) not isolate them like that.(Just my view)

On a serious note my take on Mathata is that she is a firm lady, who doesnt take nonsense from anyone, she knows what she wants and wont settle for less. But the problem is she is too sensitive and likes to prove a point. she knows what she wants to say but her opinions dont get articulated clear enough bcoz she gets overwhelmed with sensitivity. She is gunuine but thats hard to bliv coz she spents most of teh time convincing people that she is instead of letting actions speak for themselves. Mathata my advice to you, you are a great perso, very succesful and ambitious, you dont need to prove a point to anyone and also just take it easy a little bit. Understand the art of humour that its not always what you want to hear and when you want to hear it. and also here on TVSA we come from different backgrounds, cultures and religion with different personalities (mostly great), just be tolent and easy going. after all this is all meant for fun.
