I couldnt believe my ears when I heard the director shouting "CUT THE HIGHLIGHTS" as I was about to watch the penalty shootout between Pirates and Platinum Stars during the Telkom Charity Cup on Saturday..

Is SABC that f----d up?? Firstly I thought it was the Jameson I was drinking- but then again, it was my first glass! So, I was sure that I heard the director telling the guys to CUT THE HIGHLIGHTS as the penalty shoot out was about to commence! They almost didnt show us the first penalty!

are we supposed to hear these things? is SABC ready for 2010?

As if that wasnt enough, they decided to take a Commercial Break IN THE MIDDLE OF THE CHIEFS vs SUNDOWS GAME!!

its not like they showed the Commercial and the Live Footage of the game at the same time- NO! They literally went to a Commercial Break while the game was playing!

Makes you wonder!

that is just bad bad bad bad.sabc should be on top of thngs given their experience and all.i think someones head is going to roll

Serves you right - why are you watching Sport on SABC in the first place? Haven't you heard of something called Supersport 3????????? it can cost you less than R16 per day and its all worth it. LOL

On a serious note, why torture yourself listening to Mike Mangena and David Kekana? My friend tells me Pule was better than them at being a Soccer Analyst. Then again you were not subjected to Thomas's fake accent on Supersport 3. I don't even wanna talk about Dr. Khumalo, just because you were great soccer player doesn't necessarily mean you can be a good Analyst. Hayi ke i don't even wanna talk about his vocab - Tjoooo it was just trauma, the words he was using, civilization, defendless(is there such a word?),etc etc .

Eish SABC & SABC Sport is a dissapointment all 2geda yazi and someone please tell Walter Mokoena to just stick to English, coz that language he was speaking most of the time on Saturday is very far from what he thought was actually isiZulu.

Sometime isiqhelo siyayoyis' ingqondo coz I was also watching on SABC 1 until I got irritated with that woman, I think it's Gloria & whoever else she was commentating with.
Kanti why can't they use abo Cebo & Sizwe for hight profile matches?
I ended up tuning in to SS3 and the commentating and the picture quality were ten times better!

@ BS, nami I was pissed off to hear Gloria commentate most of day, I mean surely SAbc should know they abantu abanjengaye are good for commentating games like Thanda Royal Zulu vs Qwaqwa Stars........mximm uyacika uSABC yazi!!!!

They had Gloria commentating? Kanti what happened to Zama Zondo and Dumile Mateza? I thought the grandfathers were brought back so that we could listen to quality soccer comments. Then again having a Soccer Expect named David Kekana should answer all my questions.

@ Mjj, they had her ekuseni for the first game Pirates VS Platinum Stars, so I said, ok they are saving the best for last, kanti to my horror they had her for the final game as well. Even tho she was with the good Sesotho guy, still she didn't deserve to commentate that game *I'm begining to believe that khona omudlayo lapha ka SABC Sport........LOL*.

And is it just me that saw the SABC camera flipping to Robert Marawa every now and then???
Mr Marawa kept appearing and disappering on SABC in his SS stand... The cameramen must have drank something strong & cold, during the games..
i noticed that in the second half of the final,i think they were sharing the same video feed with supersport.so they were all using the same crew to shoot the game but due to incompetence they kept cutting to marawa by istake

Eish I also saw that Tha - bang, SABC really needs to lift it's standards, I mean afterall we do pay our TV licences, so why can't they produce quality shows for us?

but sabc needs to get the act together.has anyonenoticed theres a actual a difference in quality between the same programme broadcast on sabc sport and on supersport becuase of the different systems the guys use.
sabc is aways slightly washed out as compared to supersport

As for the soccer coverage , it's Supersport crew who are doing it,not SABC guys ,,my understanding is that they have an agreement to broadcast some games on SABC but with their cameras,,,
and if you ask me, they are doing a lousy job so far,,,,even if it's on SS3/SS4 ..
i think they are new to this live soccer thing since they are used to live rugby which is not as fast as soccer , taking into consideration the speed of the movement of the ball from one post to the other, which their cameras and the pitch coverage must match......

sometimes you'll find that while the game is still on, they will show someone sitting on the stands for about 7 to 10 sec,,,
but i trust that they will work on it kule second season ,,,

Yhooo Sat i was watching car sport & oh boy did i tell u it was the first time watching attentively. It was gud but sad for Massa shame...............Ok talking about SABC sport, i stopped watching soccer ages ago. Im tired of Marks Maponyane batsho ngamagxa asezanzi ngathi ngawamaqaba (dont ask me ukuthi anjani awabo). I really dont know what they think about us. We cant all afford these DSTV with Tito osinyisa ngathi there is no 2morow mfiiiiiiiiiiiimmmmmm yhazi sizofana neZim.

Myname - its called F1, and i can see that you and i are going to get along just fine because you sound you a a Scudaria Ferrari Fan.
