Are u that patient???

Its been a long time since i wrote something.

I have to say this coz its been pissing me off the whole day yesterday. I went to a salon yesterday and as my friend promised to do my hair but she disappeared on me.

As the weekend was getting over and my hair looked like i've seen a ghost, so i rushed to the nearest salon and the owners there are frm Maputo they are Shangaan no offence ppl.

They have welcomed me and i saw that the environment is not gud but hey my hair needs to be done, gud environment or not. They started doing their thing and hey after that long sitting and the crying of these ppl's kids drove me nuts. The smell of their armpits is out of this world, as i said my hair has to be done so i sat there patiently for my hair to be done.

We all know that these ppl know how to do one's hair.I told myself that i'm not coming here again, it was my first and last time setting my foot there. Now i'm looking gud and no one can say that i was tortured by smelly armpits before my hair was done.

Now ladies have u ever been in the situation like this and how did u handled it?
People are complimenting me and i just say thanks but damn if u knew what i went through for that gud looking hair.

What i have noticed in these ppl's salon they are always full of customers but hey kuyanuka laphayana. Cum on gals talk to me.

This is so wrong Hlehle, you dont refer to human beings as these people... who gives you that right to think you are superior than them? You should have just gone to Sandton (Hair Images, etc) the minute you discovered the standard was not matching up to yours!

Hlehle some people from Africa generally have a body odour problem, its nothing new, there are some who are aware of it and take care of their biz, like my friend from Congo, he smells devine but his best friend is the extreme oppossite and he's dating a white woman but he's clean. Therefore, I don't think you can go to those ladies and say wat u want to say (politely or not) just don't go there or just be "patient" ke and put up with it qha. I've grown used to them and i understand that a great number of the ones i've come across have this problem, and i'm not going to go around telling people about something i know not the cause off.
I'm not being xhenophobic i'm just stating or clarifying.

04 Aug 2008 05:40

Tjo, tjo, tjo.......the title of this OFFENSIVE article is so misleading. Here i am thinking it's one of those men issues articles kanti wena Hlehle you are ranting about people from Zim and Maputo and their stinking armpits.

What has being Shangaan to do with being from Maputo or running a salon or having the ability to make your hair look beautiful?

I suggest you change the tone of your article. imagine if you were one of 'these people' that are referred to in the article. i doubt you'd be laughing. IT'S NOT FUNNY and if that was the intention, IT'S IN BAD TASTE.

South Africans don't come out smelling of roses either if there are people out there who still use stereotypes and generalise to put their points across.

Hlehle: I understand what you mean. But sisi it is really a very careless statement to make especially even before the blood dries up of all the people who were attacked - those killed have not yet decomposed...It is really careless.

None the less, I believe that it is very important that everybody especially people in business and at work do apply some basic personal hygiene...Deodorant and brushing teeth. And if you feel that the person who is behid you over your head for six hours is really killing you - sisi you talk to the manager on your way out (if you are interested in having good style_ or say it there and then and then suffer scalp pulling and a very bad hairstyle.

Hundreds of supporters of ANC President Jacob Zuma have held a night vigil ahead of his appearance in the Pietermaritzburg High Court today. Zuma is to appear in court today to challenge the National Prosecuting Authority's (NPA) charges against him - which include fraud and corruption.

The Pietermaritzburg's central business district is expected to come to a standstill and many streets in the city centre have been closed off. Security is expected to be tight. Police spokesperson Superintendent Vincent Mdunge said that extra police officers had been deployed to Pietermaritzburg.

Mayor of Umsunduzi, Zanele Hlatswayo, says she encourages the supporters to make their voices heard outside court in a disciplined manner. “I want to say to the supporters, they must support Zuma but they must behave themselves, must be disciplined like ANC cadres are and demonstrate peacefully like the ANC always encourages and voice their opinions peacefully.”

Meanwhile, Political analyst Somadoda Fikeni says it is possible that ANC president Jacob Zuma might not stand trial on fraud and corruption charges, if he becomes the country's president.

My helper is from Zimbabwe. She is really good with my daughter, but she is also one of those with a very bad odour. I bought her deodorant and roll on, and advised her to use it. I told her that she is a grown up woman and needs to use roll on, and that she will smell good too.

I think that people need to be told, and they need to be told in a subtle way. I think that it was not your place to say anything to them, simply because you don't know them, and I promise you if you did, they were definately going to throw you out.

As offensive as it is,there is an element of truth at what Hlehle is saying, although she should have rather used the words "most of poor shangaan, zim,and nigerian people" do have a problem with bad smell, although all races have a problem with bad smell if their hygiene is not up to standard.  there is this lady in my workplace cleans our offices everybody would just get up and go once she i felt so sorry for her, i bought soap, sanex and washing powder. i gave them to her and told her that she must atleast try not to wear the same clothes twice and to take a bath and that i feel sorry for her because people are making fun of her. she said she doesnt earn much and sometimes she doesnt have money to buy those things, she has eight kids. i gave her a job, she now comes to clean my house on friday's and does the washing during weekend. some people have a problem with their armpits no matter how many times they wash shem!

Zuma's laywers call for dismissal
Jacob Zuma's lawyer has told the Pietermaritzburg High court that had Zuma been consulted, before he was charged, they would not be applying to have his case dismissed.

They are trying to convince Judge Chris Nicholson the National Prosecuting Authority's decision to charge him was unlawful.

@Hlehle sisi i must say u were politically incorrect by using the phrase 'these people'. Strangely and cowardly enuf this is how many people refer to foreigners at the comfort of their own homes, its unfortunate that u verbalized it on TVSA.

I do my hair, especially braids, at salons owned by my african sistas becoz they are good and quick at it, so yes i know what ure talking about and i've never had the guts to tell them that their body odour is a problem.  i've also been to salons owned by South Africans but  never had the same problem. What do you guys suggest the Judge should do about this Zuma/thint case?
My personal view would be to close the chapter once and for all, for the sake of the country ,(That's why ngcuka didn't want to proceed with it years back)...
someone thought this Zuma guy would just get scared and give up , but now this thing is blowing up in their faces ,which is causing a lot of havoc in RSA....

And i would assume that we are all aware that this billion rand Arms deal couln't be handled by this Zuma guy alone and bypass the man above him,,,,lena imibono yami.

EC: they smell like boiled onion.

@Hlehle, the only thing negative about your article is the repeatitive use of the phrase "these phrase", this phrase has been labeled discriminatory since the days of apartheid. I know this is just a bad result of a good intention, so next time be careful.

About the smelling and ampits part, I aint sorry to say this but you right, if we not open about this and let it known that some of our black sistz from africa stink, how are they going to know and improve. And secondly this odour will not go away just because we choose to ignore it. This is un-acceptable, we shouldnt be punished by bad smell, while some of us wake up at 5am to make sure that we leave our residence clean. It is such an ordeal to wash the same body everyday, but we do, so why are some people spared from that ordeal, hay khona

On Zuma issue, some one please pass him his machine gun, i smell suicide, and I aint sad about that

my biggest piece of biltong is the self righteous indignation thats bandied around by the so-called anti xenophobic ppl-they,like the liberals, see racism and danger in anything thats controversial and not to their liking.

In factI think its one the worst used and the current "swear word" in black South African vocab. Not everything needs to be construed in the context of us and them-or black or white.

Probably Hlehle's biggest cock up was to mention to foreign cities-next time dont-or you'll have everyone screaming bigotry and blanket comments about innocent observations

Being dirty and stinking has nothing to do with being poor. Water is free mo Afrika Borwa, secondly we are charged R100-R300 for hair do, so on average some one is earning more than R600 rands per day (no tax, UIF orPAYE charged). Take R30 from that R600, buy a sunlight (R4) soap that can be used as (soap and also a roll on, it works), an exlamation body spray (R18)  and a cocoa butter (R7), You have R1 change and smell fesh the whole month.

Education has got nothing to do with malema being a inuku lokukhuluma, he's just like Lekota,,,,even if ufundile ,mayiyidlabhalokukhuluma ,they's nothing education can do for you......

you will find uneducated old men talking some sense onto you and the way they talk will charm you,,more especially those rural men....

by the way Mbeki didn't tell JZ to do this and that, but they did things together ,and at the end the other was became a snitch, for some reasons,,,he should be thankfull that JZ is a man enough to take the fall alone without naming others,,even to look like a clown to those who are ignorant...but those who are good thinkers new all along that someone betrayed someone there....

By the way where is lekota??? , he just vanished after polokwane,,,to show that the ship is sinking on the other side....

its a pity that he's willing to take a fall for Mbeki, what is it that he's going to gain from that? anyway, if he becomes a president, I'm migrating to Zim, at least there I'll be a trillionare. and not have to worry about any baby oils or showers for my kids.

Imagine my kid saying "The president took a shower to minimize the risk of HIV, so if he did, why can't I do that as well" Hell no

To you this would be like a true hollywood blockbuster movie if you can be this close....it's really not as obvious as some people think....
it's not about who's guilty or who's not ,  it's about the manipulation of powers and the judiciary system ; Govt and NPA connection,,,there's a connection here which is strong ,,,

In as much as I know nothing about politics, I think I'm better off ignorant, as long I can sleep peacefully at night, I hope even those magriza who are outside the court today, even slept there, I hope they are not as clueless as I am, because most of the people who support JZ at the ground do that because they say Ngumuntu wabantu"  as opposed to Thabo, either way It does not matter.

about Democracy, I thought i had the write to state my mind based on morale, not politics.

by the way i'm not a supporter of anyone , i just like to think out of the box ..infact i'm an ANC card carrying member and i'm much closer to the action ,you won't even blieve it..... I was not far off mos, you should be saying what you are saying, or else you will loose you card.
