I am rather disappointed that you will choose to retire to bed early, when you know myself and your other fans are counting on you for updates. I so much enjoy reading your postings, together with Brown Shuga that I feel I am missing something on any day I am too busy to access TVSA. Lady, please buckle up and do some exercises to stay awake please!!!

Out of curiosity , I tuned in mid-way into the show, when I was sure the nominations would be on, to see who would be nominated for eviction. Need we wait, TK is leaving! So predictable I would say. Then I decided to watch for 30 mins - I ACTUALLLY TIMED MYSELF!!!! (before switching to CNN) to see the Finnish guy. And I thought to myself: what purpose does it serve to bring in a guy, would a lady not have been better? Better still, "this dying show" would have come to life by bringing back Max, Lerato, Offuneka and of Tatiana (housemates from BBA 2) as guests for a week. I would have certainly tuned back to Channel 198 for a week at least.

The failure of this show is not far-fetched. The lesson is that when you are copying a concept from an advanced country, you must adapt it for the African continent.

your keeng sego id going out, you know im anti BB but i liked the twist they pulled and have been watching to see how long will it take the lion to devour its new prey.
but TK truely and utterly sucks.it would be cool if he was shown the door.and whats up with hazel and thami, i thought looking into each others eyes with no action happening was the sole preserve of high school.i don't get it?
as for munya i hope he has a lovely time in finland.hopefully he will do his own bit of devouring hehehehehe.i was looking at the pics,some of the ladies look very very very fine errrr mmm...now i will go back to being a fly in the wall .sweet

Jay Jay is outgoing and clued-up. housemates are envious of Munya. he is representing Africa and not Zim so we'll see how he does it. excited that he is not up for nomination. tawana found a letter that he wrote about throwing food away and she must not get creative. doesn't feel safe, tawana could put him in. hope she didn't do anything crazy. would be difficult to be pleasant to her if she does.

tk and Ricco are strong players. been thru the most nominations and are popular. this is the toughest nomination so far. everybody is a potential winner. not sure who will come back.doesn't mean that becos h surived he is popular since he was with the people he was nominated with. ants to be optimistic and this is a personality game. happy to have survived.

feels the strongest contenders are Morris and Hazel. Maybe Ricco and TK because he srvived nominations. Ricco has survived the most, TK is seen as a player in the game, Morris hasn't been thru the nomination and is untested and the way he carries himself, may be helpful and being a responsible father in a generation where ppl leave their kids may make him popular. Hazel is a strong character - is involved in a lot of things outside.

Munya is getting an introduction on traditional finnish foods. He likes many stuff. I personaly think that many finnish foods are kind of weird stuff, so maybe they are just suitable for Munya.

For example fish and pork baked inside a bread crust, mammi which is black stuff and looks and tastes like *bleep!* and karelian pastry = rice baked inside darkbread crust.

what does Jay think about african cusin?

requests from hms - new underwear (Ricco and Morris) and a pool table for entertainment.

HOH - okay being one and it's not demanding and getting ppl to wake up is difficult. hms love their sleep and getting them up is hard. they don't want to get up. being aleader you need to absorb the blame and she can't jump on their beds to wake them up. cant expect them to comply with what she says, and they don't follo wimp-e orders so how can she make them follow her. there is no bickering cos of less hms are there.

Jay Jay has adapted well and slept well.. he ate well and was in a shock yesterday but he is fine. they are ok with munya whereer he is. he is missed but they are cool with it. personally misses seeing him and he will come back but life moves on. hopes he comes back.

nominations - he nominated both so have to wait and see. odd if one of them goes. they have survived so many nominations. misses Sheila but life moves on. TK has been nominated forever, gave sorry excuses why she nominated them. first time sh nominated tk and because he is too sure of himself, the hms feel he is a strong player.

strong players - doesn't know for sure. thought Uti was. africa doesn't share the same opinion. hought africa thinks she is a psycho or crazy but hopes that sfrica sees a change and growth in her. hopes africa appreciates her and want to see how far she can go. loves giving massages and releases stress. it gives her joy but she doesn't like getting one. has gotten massaged and she is scared of getting massages. massages make her tense and she enjoyed the last massage. Munya gave her a massage.

asked for a pool table. thinks e is nominated because he is atheat and they don't like him. he has been nominated 5 times in a row. he has broken the bb record for most nomination. feels happy that he is up with ricco, they are niggas, whichever way it goes, it's all good. hopes he survives and feels very popular since being nominated this much. also very expected now.

felt tired and sleepy this morning and didn't want to exercise. will force himself to do so.

Jay Jay seems to have settled in fine, in the swingof thinsg, getting along with everybody. impression is he is a bit of a rebel and crazy from what he has said. sounds like all finnish guys are that crazy. nice to see someone think being crazy is normal.

ppl were jealous and envious that they didn't make the trip to wherever munya went and is the best person to repesent african culture. understands why munya was chosen. his leaving has had no impact. since Jay Jay came ppl have forgotten Munya. he misses him personally, he is a lucky and skipped a week of nomination. everybody lose not impacted. felt envious when he found out that munya left. compared his slogan and saw that munya had a better one. he would have liked to meet new ppl and travel too and change would be good, like a holiday. when munya comes back, he'll have a diff pair of legs and an advantage, will learn how to play the game. judging by the reaction of the hms when he comes back he'll get nominated the first week he gets back.

complained that there is no zambian music and only east, west and south african music and they get the same song over and over... there's other artists. it is irritating and redundant.

cooking - tk and ricco are cooking for this week. she likes to cook. it's like taking a breather and the guys could be talented in that area.

task - morris has been working on the outline.

Jay Jay is settling in well, is enjoying his time in her. very involved. hopes he will enjoy his stay. okay that possibly where munya is. they have a guest and think munya is in finland and minds are at rest. difficult and questions will be asked when he comes back and he wasn't up for eviction last week. tawana will mis him most. they have gotten very close lately. they are closer after the movie - munya and tawana discussed issues in the movie and why munya is studying film. the chat got them closer. munya tells great stories.

strange that only 2 people up for eviction. not sure who are strong players but depends on situations. munya an ricco are strong contenders. ricco has survived nominations a number of times.thinks africa is watching and can't say how they feel about her, hopes they understand her. things she does there speak for her .

2nd day - the housemates have been nice to him, he is trying to follow the flow and do what they tell him to do. they have a daily routine that they dont know what to do wih him and giving him.

not sure if hhehas friendhips yet, had a good conversation with morris yesterday. likes ricco and

Morrs - is a petty smart guy, very gentle, has a warm heart, when he speaks he says smart things.
ricco - tells great stories, fun
thami- laughs a lot and likes pranks
tk - big quiete guy, funny. doesn't work too muh.
tawana - oldest one in the house and is the youngest in the house.nice gal
hazel - shy and quite, nice. likes to cook and sometimes to nice and friendly.

hopes they would take them with to finland to get the laughterin the finland house. he would take Ricco because he is very outgoing, keeps the spirit and he would be the best choice.

food - loves the food. the lunch was nice.very differnt from finnish food, likes that he can eat with his hands and since he loves food he enjoyed the fod. likes to taste new food.

likes Jay Jay. spoke to him and thinks he is mature and he will miss him. he wants to go to finland. he is a calabash, has ideas. is an african man in a white skin. will mis him. first day he was queer... thought munya had left when he saw the first night he didn't come back . johan has filled the space.

he doesn't miss munya. doesn't believe the hms miss him. everyone is getting used to him being away. munya is representing africa at large, not just zim. thinks he is out for a good cause. great opportunity.

Sorry for responding late to your question, I was attending a meeting. Yes, I stopped watching BBA 3 when Uti was evicted. Not because of patriotic sentiments but because there was nothing to watch. Do I feel Uti was that good? My answer is No and Segololo will be surprised!!! Before I proceed to tell you why I stopped watching, I would like to point out that my favourite housemate in BBA 2 was Tatiana and I stuck with her till the very end. Shame she did not win.

I stopped watching because there was nothing to watch. With the exception of Ricco and Sheila, I don't know the criteria that was used in selecting the other housemates. Uti was "crazy", so there was something for me to watch. Let me restict my analysis henceforth to the choice of the housemate from my country.

There has been 3 Bigbrothers to date. All those nominated from my country have been "Ibos" . In case I am taken up on the first housemate, Bayo - his full name is Bayo Okoh - his father is Ibo! I am not trying to advance tribalism here, but I just want to put things in perspective. My country has 3 major ethnic groups and more than 50 minor ethnic group, with each of their population higher than that of Johannesburg. Don't take me for my word, please find out.

I don't need to be told where the Nigerian who does the selection for Mnet in Nigeria comes from!!!!! The problem the organizers have is that the Ibos by nature are business-minded. BBA is business for them. You are not going to see them shower naked, you are not going to see them date any girl or guy in the house , they will tell you they have not finished dating the ones in Nigeria. For them , the target is to market themselves - business and business alone. Nothing more.

Uti made it known when he was in the house that he was not prepared to stay till the end if there was no chance of him winning and wanted to be nominated to see what Africa feels about him. He said he was not prepared to provide free entertainment for 3 months if there was no chance of him winning. He told BB that he is not a team player because he was not going to share the money with whoever wins. He has since said post-bigbrother that he left at the right time. An Ibo person has no time to waste when he or she can be pursuing other business interests.

The British came and put 5 countries into one and named it Nigeria. We are so different. Next time, the organizers should cast their net wide and select a housemate from the other "4" countries inside Nigeria. We have beautiful girls from Edo State and Rivers state. The Calabar ladies are hot, ask any Nigerian. There are handsome guys from Rivers state and the Christian Middle belt areas in Nigeria. These are just a few examples.

The organisers need to send South African officials to Nigeria to do the selection for BBA 4 themselves. Anyone watching Uti will think Nigerian men are abusive and unrefined. That is not the case. You need to see the guys from the other "4" countries in Nigeria. I rest my case!

@ dotty its interesting what you have to say.we as a africans are suffering from that,even the guys in botswana like to perpertuate the myth that only batswana are found there while Bakalanga, Basarwa and a small enclave of Bavhemburu are alienated from both local and international recognation.
It's like with BBA , this is the first ive tried to follow, whats up with there be any other races except black people.Cause we all know there are lot of white guys, Indian guys and arab guys within the continent and within the countrys that are represented in the BBA show.
Although i honetly feel BB does alot in getting africans and now the fins to talk to each other,we still have a long way to go about being honest about how we represent ourselves both in tv,print and the media in general.

I could say the same thing about SA why dooes it have to be Jhb people - but fact is other people don't have interest in being in the house others no access to auditions others no access to DSTV so they can know thta auditions are on.

so fluffy are u saying its possible for an entire group of people not to have dstv or not have a single person auditioning from either white,coloured or indian backgrounds,I doubt it.cause BBSA proves that assumption wrong
i just think we are just too lame and passive as a continent and we rather keep the status quo than to be honest with ourselves.Why aren't we pushing the envelope a bit? whats wrong with showing Africa as a cosmopolitan society in its own way?

The British came and put 5 countries into one and named it Nigeria. We are so different. Next time, the organizers should cast their net wide and select a housemate from the other "4" countries inside Nigeria. WOW thanks Dotty, i had no idea whatsoever about this. I knew about the many languages but not the differences. Are the languages totally different from each other to a point where you wont understand a particular one.

Thabs how many whites watch BBA? not even a single white person is krazy about BBA in my office? I doubt they even audition and the few that audition clearly dont meet the criteria. I still dont understand how the they recruited thami and it will be forever a mistery to me. I would never wanna go back to BBSA as I no black person would have won that.

Stefan Ludik from BBA1 presented Namibia,... and there was this huge controversial discussion about whether he is African or not,... and it PO me in a big way. Even Namibians entertained that same senseless question. Whenvever I am travelling in Africa (except SA and Namibia) people would like to know whether I consider myself an African because I do not look like an African. Last year a Zambian colleague even went as far to inform me that I look Mediterranean - I do not even know that a person can look Mediterranean.
tha-bang, if we, as Africans, do not even except and embrace the cosmopolitan society ourselves, how can we represent it to the rest of the world? And BBA suits, bless their souls, certainly would like to avoid that type of controversy.

I don't know,... he did mention for how long he would be away but I can't remember. He needs a prayer because if he is still in Namibia, he most probably melted away already,...

But him being in Namibia is not an acceptable reason for not blogging cause even though his laptop has problems, he can use his phone. If he is on a farm, he can climb a mountain or a tree and he would be able to get a signal... that is how we are doing it on the farms here in Namibia... adapt and survive.

He better has a helluva of a good explanation

I saw some derogatory names associated with 2 of the remaining women in Sego's article and in a Namibian article on Big Brother- and I would ike to know who generated these names

in any form or fashion, it shows that many Africans are very sexist, and meanspirited, etc.

I don't understand the origin or justification for any of the name calling.

I have not been keeping up with any of this series. The derogatory name calling caused me to look at many of the videos for both Hazel and Tawana to see if any of their behavior could call their character into question that they are lascivious, etc.

I don't see how the charge holds with Hazel - She comes across as a nice young woman, who is pretty, intelligent, articulate. Ihave not seen any vidoes, where is shown having sexual relations, etc. Sure she is in a relationship, but does the involvement of a young woman in a modern relationship make her a ho? Is Africa really a continent of ignorant, mysogynistic people with double standards for both men and women? From the episodes I've viewed of her, she seems to carry herself in a very dignified manner - she does not seem to be particularly meanspirited or catty. I as an African-American woman from what I saw like her - she reminds me of African-Americans I know - she seems like a modern, woman.

And so is Tawana - Tawana does not care what others think about her or the stigma - she is obviously quite an intelligent woman as well - however, is is open and public about her sexuality and attractiions - muc of her behavior, I do find objectionable such as the drinking, etc. etc.

But it seems that regardless of whether you are good girl, or a "bad girl",
the mysogynists, or other voyeurs who themselves are promiscuous and "sick" like Sego - do not care - they attack women period.

I see a big difference between Hazel and Tawana in the way the speak publically about relationships, romance and whether or not they speak about sex, etc.

I just don't get it really - Would even a 3 year old baby be alleged to be horny in Africa? These portrayals of these women Tawana and Hazel - and their denigration really paints those who are wielding them in a bad light.
