On Sunday night 31-year old farmer
Tawana Lebani was the ninth and final housemate to get the BBAfrica boot before Sunday's Finale.
Replaced by her lover Munya - in favour of his other lover Ricco - she was uknowingly up against Hazel and got evicted by 10 votes to 3. Here's what she had to say when I posed
our questions:
Tashi: Why do you think you were voted out?
Tawana: I think morality issues came into play. I was having my fun and I guess everybody took it the wrong way. I've been reading the questions on screen now and promiscuity came into play. Bed-hopping came into play and I think that's why I got voted out. Up until we got thrown into the house - as I said on stage last night - I enjoy having having sex and when you have absolutely nothing to do - what else can you do?
Tashi: Are you a sex addict?
Tawana: I'm not a sex addict, I just love having sex - there's a difference.
Tashi: So you were bored and that's why there was all the sex, sex, sex?
Tawana: Yes and I love the attention, don't let it go to waste.
Tashi: The reason for all the sex- do you have self esteem issues? Are you an exhibitionist?
Tawana: Nope I don't have self esteem issues - I actually just love attention and when it's given, it's given and appreciated.
Tashi: So sex is one of the key areas you find that attention?
Tawana: And also when I'm sad - I need to have sex.
Tashi: Was being a sletty part of your strategy?
Tawana: I don't think I was slutty if you want to call it that - I just happened to be followed by cameras, I was in the spotlight - you can't tell me you don't know people who maybe have mutliple sexual partners at the same time, it happens - it's just that I happened to be in the spotlight and people are making a hooha about it.
Tashi: Are you the same in real life as you were in the show?
Tawana: I'm not going to answer that. My real life is my private life and I'm over the cameras now.
Tashi: Did you use condoms?
Tawana: Yes I did - I mean if people watched hard enough, they'll know that I did.
Tashi: In the moments of sex - what did you think veiwers were thinking?
Tawana: I didn't think about viewers really, I was thinking about myself.
Tashi: At what point in the show did you think about viewers?
Tawana: Never.
Tashi: When did the awareness that you were on camera disappear?
Tawana: You can't always be thinking of the cameras - I was there for 84 days - at some point you just have to let go and accept that you're in a certain environment and you just make do with what you have.
Tashi: Who was the best between the sheets?
Tawana: I don't think I should answer that.
Tashi: Why?
Tawana: Because I don't feel compelled to.
Tashi: They probably would if they came out.
Tawana: I know they would but it's my prerogative, they can answer as many questions as they feel like.
Tashi: Who was the worst?
Tawana: I'm not gonna answer that also.
Tashi: I'll take a guess it was Ricco.
Tawana: Why would you say that?
Tashi: Because he's a total punk.
Tawana: Well that's your opinion you see.
Tashi: The blow job - did you have to tell to tell the world - what made you tell in the first place?
Tawana: Did I tell their world or did it just come up in a discission? Big brother brought it up - there were whispers in the house why let them go round? Rather set the record straight.
Tashi: Would you have considered a 3-some with TK?
Tawana: No I wouldn't have.
Tashi: How did you feel about TK?
Tawana: I liked TK for his mind and I was actually quite disappointed when he started pulling away from me.
Tashi: Your crying over him when he dumped you for Sheila - was that for real?
Tawana: Did I cry? I can't even remember crying but I keep hearing about this crying and I keep reading about it. I don't know - I remember telling him I was happy for him and Sheila, they clearly deserved each other - for them to have to guard each other against me.
Tashi: So you think they should have guarded each other against you?
Tawana: Yes because clearly I was a threat. If they were comfortable with me they wouldn't have had to guard themselves against me.
Tashi: Why did you cry when Morris left whereas you were one of the people who nominated him?
Tawana: Obviously somebody has to get nominated - he was my friend and I didn't think he'd go. You say you watched - Morris had this temper that had a way of rearing his head. You watched the show and could see why I wanted him out and clearly Africa wanted him out and the reasons I've heard for them voting him out where different from the reasons I gave.
Tashi: Did you think you'd be evicted?
Tawana: I knew I was going to be evicted because all the time I'd have a tickling on my arms and legs and nothing happened on Saturday so I knew I was going home.
Tashi: Surely you knew that viewers wouldn't have kept you with having all the sex with everybody?
Tawana: No, I didn't think they'd mind but clearly they did.
Tashi: Do you believe in love - or are you afraid of love?
Tawana: I have been in love, I haven't been in love recently.
Tashi: Are you afraid of love?
Tawana: I'm not afraid of love - I'm for love.
Tashi: Will you get married and have kids?
Tawana: Hopefully - were you watching on Saturday? I caught the bouquet so I might be next in line.
Tashi: If you were to marry someone from the house - who would it be?
Tawana: No-one.
Tashi: How did you get the scar on your forehead?
Tawana: I had a motorbike accident when I was young. I was with my dad and we hit a cow.
Tashi: Do you have a boyfriend?
Tawana: I don't want to answer that.
Tashi: When you started realising that Munya was treating you like a piece of meat - why did you contnue having sex with him?
Tawana: It was fun.
Tashi: How did you feel when he asked you to do Ricco - don't you think he saw you as a toy and was disrespecting you?
Tawana: Um, not really. I can't speak for Munya - he had his own reasons - you say you watched the show and I kept asking him for reasons and he couldn't give me a clear answer so he was confused.
Tashi: Do you feel you were used by the guys?
Tawana: No - because maybe I used them also.
Tashi: When you spoke to Ricco, you said you were used to being treated like a piece of sh!t - did something happen to you in your past?
Tawana: I've had rather rocky relationships - with someone who beat me up for three years, I've been in an emotionally taxing relationship - all in all it's learning. That's just part of my other life that has nothing to do with Big Brother.
Tashi: Was your relationship with your mother as bad as you made it sound when you were in the rubbish penthouse with Latoya?
Tawana: I read that - I don't recall that - how did I make it sound? Refresh my memory.
Tashi: When you spoke about her to her Latoya
you mentioned something
...
I didn't see the scene, it's a readers question but I imagine they're referring to you talking about things being bad or difficult between you - they went on to ask if you feel bad about the things you said about her?
Tawana: I just love my mom - let's just leave it that.
Tashi: I've been wondering this, I think you mentioned it at the start - do you have false teeth?
Tawana: Yes I do.
Tashi: How do you feel about the fact that Munya and Ricco have had relationships with different chicks - including one in Finland - yet they're still in the house whereas your multiple partnering's part of what got you whacked?
Tawana: They're male and I happen to be female. It's part of life - when you're female you get discriminated against.
Tashi: What's your take on promiscuity?
Tawana: I don't think I should comment on that because I don't see it as being promiscious.
Tashi: So that's your take - that you don't see it as being promiscious?
Tawana: Yes.
Tashi: What do you see as being promiscious? What's your perspective on the word, the concept?
Tawana: Maybe you could tell me what promiscuity is and we can discuss.
Tashi: I don't have an opinion. *
laughs - in irritation aka Samuel L Jackson in Pulp Fiction when he says" Man, I don't even have an opinion*.
Tashi: Thami thinks that you're troubled - what do you have to say about that?
Tawana: It's Thami's opinion.
Tashi: After your fight with him - why do you think he held a grudge for so long?
Tawana: I don't know, it's just the way he is, it's his life.
Tashi: When you were in the house did you know you'd get asked all these questions in interviews?
Tawana: Yes I did.
Tashi: Did you decide you were gonna turn the questions onto the interviewer?
Tawana: I'm just learning as I go along.
Tashi: So you've found that works - turning the questions on the interviewer?
Tawana: It does, it seems to be working on you right now.
Tashi: Well it does - do you think an interviewer's judging you when they ask questions?
Tawana: Well you're doing your job - you're trying to inform the public and I commend you on that so let's just keep talking.
Tashi: Will you try to make ammends with Thami?
Tawana: Let's just move on, we'll talk when we meet - I don't think it should be a public issue.
Tashi: Why - because it happened in the house?
Tawana: Yes and we're no longer in the house.
Tashi: If you could bonk any of the housemates after the show - who would you choose?
Tawana: No-one.
Tashi: So you didn't actually like any of them?
Tawana: No I did - at that moment. It's all over and done with.
Tashi: What's your idea love, man, sexual partner?
Tawana: Someone I understand, someone I can talk to - you know I love talking, that would be my ideal.
Tashi: If you could do it all again - would you do it the same way?
Tawana: The very same way.
Tashi: What has the impact of the questions you've had been on you?
Tawana: It's actually making me a bit stronger - I'm getting to realise I'm stronger than I am and whatever you guys throw at me I'm going to take it my stride and smile all the way.
Tashi: What's been the roughest question you've had all morning?
Tawana: You asking me about my promiscuity.
Tashi: Really? Is it something to do with that word?
Tawana: Yes, your choice of word because I think you owe it to the public to ask questions I can answer comfortably but if you try to antogonise I'll give you no comment.
Tashi: But the question: what's your take on promiscuity isn't necessarily antagonizing - it's genuinely: what is your take on promiscuity? How do you see it? What is it?
Tawana: You describe it to me first and then I'll give my take.
Tashi: Okay, fair enough. *
both laugh.* Well, that's it - those are my questions - is there anything you think I should ask that I haven't?
Tawana: Well maybe I should ask why the hype and all the questions about my sexual encounters?
Tashi: It's because you're a woman - if you were a guy you'd be revered for it. Sexism. What's your take on that?
Tawana: Your readers might not think you've asked the questions right.
Tashi: Well by your turning the questions onto me they might think it's being defensive - is it?
Tawana: No, what do people know about me? I have two degrees, maybe you could ask me something about myself and not my sexual being so that people can actually understand that I'm about more than just sex.
Tashi: Okay, so where to from here?
Tawana: I'm going back to my farm, I'm going to go to business school because I've just been doing it blindly - next year I want to start working with street kids and start teaching them basic skills so they can move on and make a living, I intend to retire by age 35 and then hopefully go into politics.
Tashi: Why did you enter Big Brother?
Tawana: My sister dared me.
Tashi: Have you spoken to her since you've been out?
Tawana: Yes I have - she was disappointed I didn't make it until the final week but all in all it worked out okay.
