After months of auditions, heats, elimination rounds, rehearsals, photo shoots and media interviews - the RC Star Struck! Finale has arrived.
On Thursday (20 November), Friday (21 November) and Monday (24 November) the showdown between Portia and Tshidi will play out across the three episodes.
Televised live from Diepkloof's Kilowatt Club, the competing duo will go voice-to-voice in the hope of winning the grand pize of a recording contract with Redemption Records - as well as a surprise bonus of R250 000.
The finale's going to feature a celeb host, designer gear by David Tlale and a panel of real life judges - with Redemption's David in the thick of the action.
It's been a long and emotional road for Tshidi to get to the point she's at: from the clinic where she volunteers, she brought home terminally ill Mandla to nurse him on his deathbed and helped him commit suicide.
A brilliant student who intended to study medicine on a gaurenteed grant, Tshidi dropped out of Matric to concentrate on her "big showbiz" career. She's estranged from her parents and has moved out of home.
In her absence, Charlotte has become the surrogate daughter in the Khuse household. Tshidi has let stardom and being the breadwinner of her family go to her head, although she has helped her financially struggling parents and assisted her brother in paying Charlott'e lobolo.
She has lost her virginity to the show's producer - slick-slimy Siyabonga, with whom she's having a secret relationship, even though she suspects he's cheating on her.
Tshidi deliberately sabotaged the chances of tipped-to-win Bobo, the show's favourite contestant. She still regards Portia as her best friend and instant life coach. Tshidi is lost. She is friendless and without family. She has made some careless and bad choices.
On the night of the finale: there will be blackmail. Tshidi's performance will be sabotaged. Allegations will be made and confirmed. Tshidi will suffer great public humiliation. Her family will be shamed. The stunned judges will need to deliberate behind closed doors. There will be shock announcements. Gleeful David will gloat about the ratings and publicity goldmine.
As things unfold Tshidi will be faced with some utlimate questions: can she win this once in a lifetime opportunity? If she does - how will she change? If she doesn't - has she lost everything? Is what she's gone through worth it when she finally sees what she's become?
Rhythm City is on e.tv Mondays to Fridays at 18h30.
