It is just over a month since Lungisani was crowned as the next gospel sensation, winning a recording contract and a huge lump-sum! We are all wondering about how is he doing both with his music recording and the money (obviously more curious about how is he spending the money since he never mentioned that he would donate some to assist in the building of his local church).
As one of the THEN ‘less optimistic’ persons about Lungisani, I feel very strongly that I should convey this piece of testimony. ( …and no, I am not bribing for a free VIP ticket for the December tour of IWTSG although it will not hurt to get one….).
I have just returned from my rural village somewhere in the middle of Eastern Cape. There are still few homesteads with TV (powered by car batteries & obviously none with TV licence- sorry SABC). Apparently IWTSG was one of the popular programmes.
I still can not believe how much popular Lungisani’s name was, ...and the impact (religiously) he has made. I was particularly touched when I went to my village church ; mind I only go there once every five to ten years (…yhoooo ndilitshipha and un Hedeni nkosi yam…). The theme of the service was a carefully chosen scripture on “WHEN GOD FAVOURS YOU” in line with prayers of the World Aids Day
Apparently it was inspired by Lunigasini’s "preaching" when he returned to IWTSG competition [after the wild card] when he said “even if the judges’ zalo mhlaba can eliminate you, the Supreme Judge can over-rule everything”
It would seem as if the villagers were touched by this Supreme Judge word (and u know the "holy" fashion- its like a highly contageous diseases...you say one thing in toungues and suddenly everybody is blessed with the same language- yhe bethuna amakhowa....). The church service yesterday was almost a tribute to Lungisani, and a prayer dedication to him to succeed in his God-chosen-path of music ministry.
Each Tatu’ Ngovolo, Tatu’ Ngangomlenze, Tatu’ Sinqaside, Tatu Mpuku-yedobo who preached, passionately made a reference to “ngoba kaloku ikhona I SUPREME JUDGE” [ now mind that “R” are not normally pronounced in the day-day vocabulary, just like in Zulu, the words were like “ikhona iSuplim Jaji”...]
The same went for ooMama bomthandazo- each Makhwalo, Nobethikom, Nomhlandabona, etc who prayed on the WORD made a reference to “wena Suplim Jaji othe wazibonakalisa ku Lungisani eMargate (Margate is KZN to these villagers..), khawuphinde uzibonakalise kulendlela entsha umngenise kuyo ngaphaya kweentaba.. …..…(aka Jozi)”
The service went on and on about many many people who live through the daily struggles, sickness, violence, etc and have naturally lost HOPE that nothing but the SUPLIM JAJI is looking after them and with FAITH, they will survive against all odds, and the Suplim Jaji will melt those away because he favours them, and they will surface with triumph…..!
I was indeed very touched by this service, and had a very good “chat” about IWTSG and the contestants. The passion, the flow of words, the facial expression, the ‘feel’ , and the “look forward to his CD attitude” they have for Lugisani was un-imaginable. Apparently they have loved him from day one of the competition and had been voting for him. Obviously akhange ndiyithi ‘kruxu’ into yokuba I was less than optimistic about their “suplim star”.
This ‘star-in-making’ has a huge line-up of fans on the ground, and has touched many people already. These are the people who buy R5 airtime (up to six times a day) just to vote for their star – don’t ask me they do not just buy the R29 at once….!
The message today fellow bloggers is that: pants down, this guy [Lungstar] is Supreme example for many ‘faithfull worshipers-on-the-ground'. My doubts about his wining have been cleared.
Ooooppps sorry, HATS down not PANTS please….!
