Then 11-year-old Jack Davis from Miami, Florida, joins Ellen. Jack was upset to learn that Florida restaurants throw out food that could be given to the homeless because the restaurant owners could be sued if anyone who ate the food were to became ill.
Jack wrote a bill on his own that would give restaurant owners' some protection from lawsuits, and it is being lobbied to the Florida Senate to get passed as a law. Jack hopes it will become a Federal law.

Ellen welcomes the Scotto family of New York City's famed Fresco restaurant. Grammy Nominee Alice Smith performs a song from her CD For Lovers, Dreamers & Me.
Then 11-year-old "Guitar Hero Kid" Kevin Shen chats with Ellen and Brittney Strong of West Jordan, Utah, tells Ellen her story: Brittany hid in a closet and called 911 when she heard three men breaking into her home.
When officers arrived, one of the three men hid in the closet along with Brittany without knowing she was there. Brittany emerged when police entered the bedroom, and she announced where the suspect was, shocking him.
